Celtics vs. Heat Best Bets & Picks
The best bet in this matchup is taking Bam Adebayo to make a pair of triples.
Bam Adebayo 2+ Made Threes (-150 FanDuel)
Boston’s defense has allowed the 2nd-highest three-point attempt rate (46.3%) since the All-Star break, and the Celtics also surrender the most made threes per game to opposing centers.
Bam Adebayo is averaging 5.4 attempts per game from beyond the arc this season, which is a career high. The veteran has struggled with his shot recently, but he likely gets enough volume to counter this issue. Overall, Adebayo has hit this prop in two of three games versus Boston this season.
Celtics vs. Heat Preview & Breakdown
Boston is hitting its stride after notching three impressive wins in the last week. First, the Celtics defeated the reigning champs by 10 points thanks to a Jaylen Brown masterclass. Next, they took down a rolling Hawks squad that had won 14 of its past 15 games and a Hornets squad that leads the NBA in net rating since Dec. 23. The Celtics won both of these contests despite missing Brown.
Jayson Tatum is also coming off his best game since returning from a ruptured Achilles. He posted 32 points, five rebounds, eight assists, and zero turnovers on 63.5% true shooting in the win over Charlotte. Overall, Boston should be considered the favorites in the East to make the NBA Finals given how well the team has played recently.
On the other hand, Miami owns an 11-9 record since the All-Star break and is very likely bound for another Play-In Tournament appearance. The Heat’s offense has been excellent post-break, but their defense slipped. This seems to be a recurring problem for Miami – it often struggles to consistently excel on both ends of the court in the same game.
As of this moment, the Heat would have to beat Charlotte and then the loser of Philadelphia and Orlando in order to make the playoffs. Next, they would likely have to defeat Detroit, Cleveland and Boston to reach the NBA Finals before facing a team like Oklahoma City or San Antonio. Oh, and Miami would not own home-court advantage in a single series. Yikes! That’s an incredibly difficult path, which explains why the Heat are around +18000 odds to win the title.
