Get Your Kicks with the Right Picks in Draft King’s King of the Pitch
On May 12, Draft Kings soccer fantasy fanatics will compete for a $25,000 top prize. The total prize pool for the King of the Pitch final will be $150,000. All 100 spots will win cash, with finishers 76 through 100 winning $500. Here is the information you need to earn your chance to be crowned the King.
Leading up to the single day final in May, there will be daily satellites where 100 qualifying spots will be filled. Just over a dozen of these spots have been filled, so there are a number of chances to earn up to three of the allotted qualifiers.
How to Enter
To earn a qualifying spot you enter a Draft Kings fantasy soccer lineup card from that day’s game schedule. Entry fee is $150 with a prize pool split between the top-three finishers.
The leading point scorer earns a qualifying ticket in the King of the Pitch. Second and third place finishers in each qualifying round win $185 and $150 respectfully.
Lineups are created under the standard classic soccer rules. $50,000 cap limit to fill eight positions. There are a pair forward spots, plus two midfielders and defenders each. You fill your lineup with a goalie, and then one final utility player from any of the three field positions.
Goals scored are always a priority in fantasy soccer. In the King of the Pitch qualifiers each goal scored by a player on your lineup card nets 10-points. Assists score 6-points. Don’t forget the MLS league rule of awarding secondary assists, which count towards your fantasy total score.
The rest of the classic fantasy soccer scoring format applies. Things such as shots, passes intercepted and tackles won all generate 1-fantasy point. Goalkeeper scoring also follows Draft King’s classic soccer scoring format.
DFS players still have over two months to earn one of three qualifying spots and a chance at the $25,000 King of the Pitch prize. Every qualifier will win a healthy cash prize, so the smart ticket is to win a ticket.
