Jarrett Allen To Record 25+ Points +Rebounds, Sam Merrill 3+ Made Threes, Ryan Rollins To Score 15+ Points (+181 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
(Note: The original iteration of this same-game parlay had legs involving James Harden and Donovan Mitchell, as noted in the write-up below. However, subsequent to publishing, Mitchell was ruled out, and Harden is now questionable due to a thumb injury. Therefore, the SGP has been modified to include legs for Sam Merrill and Jarrett Allen, who’ll both be in good position to benefit from Mitchell’s absence and that of Evan Mobley, at minimum).
The Cavaliers wrap up a back-to-back set with a trip to the Milwaukee to face off with the short-handed Bucks, who are also in action for a second consecutive night. Cleveland is unsurprisingly solid favorite, but there are favorable matchups involving players on either side to focus on.
We’ll start with Harden, who’s quickly proven to be an excellent fit in Cleveland, working seamlessly alongside Donovan Mitchell in a star-studded backcourt. The most recent example came Tuesday night against the Knicks, when the Beard finished with his fourth 20-point tally in his first seven games with the Cavs. Coming into the night, Harden was averaging 18.7 points, 8.7 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals across his first six contests in Cleveland, and he’s reached or exceeded the 15-point threshold in a whopping 46 of 50 games overall between his time with the Clippers and Cavs.
Mitchell has likewise benefited from Harden’s arrival, and he put together another productive effort Tuesday against New York. The talented guard went for 23 points despite a nightmarish 5-for-18 tally from the floor, and he went into the night already averaging a career-high 28.6 points per contest. Mitchell also was providing 10.4 rebounds + assists per game before Tuesday, when he generated 9.0 R + A. Mitchell also tallied 49 points + rebounds + assists in one of his first two earlier meetings with Milwaukee, and Cleveland has a solid implied team total north of 118 points as of early Wednesday.
Rollins’ breakout season continued in impressive fashion Tuesday against the Heat, when he furnished 21 points alongside five assists, four rebounds, two steals and one block. The fourth-year guard carried some impressive momentum into the high-scoring victory as well, as he’d posted 22.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.1 steals while shooting a blistering 52.8% from downtown over the previous nine games. Rollins went just 1-for-2 from behind the arc Monday, but he’d drained multiple threes in 37 of 53 games coming in, including five in a loss to Cleveland on Nov. 17. The Cavaliers are also allowing the fifth-most made threes per road game (14.6), and Rollins has averaged 19.0 points (with 40% 3-point shooting) in two prior games against Cleveland this season. Rollins is also just a point short of having rattled off 10 straight games with 15+ points, adding to the appeal of this leg.
Alperen Sengun To Record 30+ Points + Rebounds + Assists, Jabari Smith To Score 15+ Points, Rockets Alt. Spread -5.5 (+152 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
The No. 3-seeded Rockets host the reeling Kings on Wednesday night, and we have a three-leg parlay that incorporates Houston’s heavy home favorite status.
Sengun is in the midst of another standout season, and he’s averaging 17.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.3 blocks across his last 13 games. The talented big man has been outstanding in his three games against the Kings as well, averaging 25.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.7 steals and 1.0 blocks across 35.3 minutes per contest. Sacramento has struggled with centers all season, allowing an NBA-high 37.4 offensive efficiency rating to fives and an NBA-high 25.4 points, along with the fifth-most rebounds (15.5), to the position on the campaign.
Sengun’s frontcourt mate Smith comes into Wednesday riding an excellent stretch of play in his own right, having put up 18.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.4 blocks while shooting 55%, including 48.3% from behind the arc, in his last 10 games. Smith is coming off having compiled 31 points against the Jazz on Monday, and he’s averaging 16.4 points (on 40.9% 3-point shooting) at home this season. He’s also 33-20 to the 15-point threshold this season while coming just a point short on four other occasions.
We’ll wrap up our parlay by simply trusting the Rockets will prevail in fairly comfortable fashion, but teasing the required margin victory down a bit utilizing FD’s Alt. Spread feature. Houston is favored by 14.5, so lowering the number all the way to 5.5 gives us plenty of breathing room. The Rockets have an average scoring margin of +5.9 points at home this season, and they already claim a 26-point win over Sacramento. Additionally, the Kings have an NBA-worst -13.5-point average scoring margin on the road, and their last three defeats in away settings have come by 26, 28 and 17 points as the rest-of-season absences of Zach LaVine, Domantas Sabonis and De’Andre Hunter start to have a more profound effect.
