2026 Oscars Final Picks, Betting Line Movements for the Academy Awards

The 2026 Oscars is finally here, as we have broken down 20 of the categories with value plays and analysis. Also, we published our Academy Awards forecast rankings map for a Birdseye view of each category and the odds to win given (via DraftKings Sportsbook).

Now, with the Oscars taking place this weekend, we can break down the final picks and go over a complete analysis of the entire betting market for this event. Even if you are not betting the Oscars this weekend and simply participating in a friend’s pool, we’ve got you covered for everything you need to for the Academy Awards on Sunday, March 15 (also Selection Sunday).

2026 Oscars Line Movements

For anyone who wagers on this event, it’s no secret the markets for the Oscars move drastically throughout the year. A few years back we saw Thirteen Lives open as the Best Picture favorite only to not receive a nomination for any Academy Award. Below, we’ll go through some noticeable line movements to watch entering Sunday’s event.

Best Picture Line Movements

The Best Picture category has seen a wire-to-wire favorite in One Battle After Another. Entering the weekend, it is still the favorite at -400 which seems fair consider the director (Paul Thomas Anderson) has also been a wire-to-wire favorite in the Best Director category. His odds to win now sit at -2500, so when comparing the two it seems -400 for Best Picture is actually low. Why?

Sinners is rallying right now, but will it be enough to knock One Battle After Another off the top of the hill? Probably not, but Sinners has moved from +900 earlier this year to +500 which is when we suggested pulling the trigger. Sinners is now down to +275, so the value is gone and actually eating into One Battle After Another’s odds as a heavy favorite.

Best Actor Line Movements

This is perhaps the most notable line movement, for notable reasons. Timothee Chalamet is finally no longer the favorite to win as Michael B. Jordan is now the favorite (something we called in our category analysis when the latter was the underdog). If you got MBJ’s plus-value odds last week then more power to you – but Chalamet is still very much alive in this race.

He now becomes the value play at +175, although Ethan Hawke has dropped to +3000 and is my personal favorite. Leo DiCaprio did leap Wagner Moura, but in the end the only line movement that matters here is Chalamet dropping from -150 to +175 after his comments and MBJ’s SAG win. If you took MBJ last week then this might be a good time to hedge your bet with Chalamet if you can.

Best Supporting Actress Line Movements

Amy Madigan is now the minus-value favorite to win this award, which makes sense according to our rankings when compared to Teyana Taylor. However, Madigan has the third-best odds to win prior to her SAG victory and jumped to the favorite at +110 the following day. She is now -140 which seems reachable for Madigan fans, but the idea she wins at -140 has little conviction.

Taylor has dropped from a once minus-favorite to +230, while Wunmi Mosaku is on her heels at +260 – either present great value to try against Madigan.

Best Cinematography Line Movements

One Battle After Another is now the favorite for this category at -350, as Sinners led most of the way once nominations were announced. This makes sense following a few pre-cursor award results, as we pulled the trigger on One Battle After Another here at +330. Despite Sinners leading most the way, and One Battle After Another the current favorite, Train Dreams at +800 still seems like a good chance to take. It’s not likely to win, but it was easily the most visually stunning of the five nominations and checks a lot of boxes those camera nerds love to vote for.

Best Sound Line Movements

Although F1: The Movie is unlikely to lose this category, the odds for winning Best Sound have slashed in half. We’re not sure why, but F1: The Movie going from -1000 to -500 means Sinners is the next man up. Sinners, to us, was the number one film for Best Sound – and a movie that could catch momentum on Oscars night and win many awards including this one. At +400, Sinners is really the only film to consider here.

Best Song Line Movements

This is another category in which the current leader (KPop Demon Hunters) should win, but Sinners is cutting into the odds. ‘Golden’ from the former is the favorite at -900, but once saw odds in the four-digit territory. Now, ‘I Lied To You’ sits at+450 and is the first time it has seen odds pass +500. The odds movement here isn’t as sudden as the category above, but still something to keep an eye on as another category with underdog potential provided by Sinners.

2026 Oscars Final Picks, Value Plays

Below, we will run through our final picks for each category now that we have final odds entering the weekend. Also, we’ve included value plays for anyone looking to make a selection outside the favorite. This can be good for hitting a big underdog for bettors, but it is also good for pool players at Oscars parties looking to hit a big pick away from the popular choice.
