Colts Vs. Broncos NFL Week 5 Thursday Night Football Same Game Parlay
Full disclosure – I’m a Broncos fan. However, I feel confident that I know when to fade my team, and this isn’t one of those spots. The Colts have struggled to protect Matt Ryan this season, and the Broncos have a great pass-rush, even without Randy Gregory. I’m taking the Broncos Moneyline to start our Same Game Parlay as they should be able to win this short-week matchup at altitude.
In addition to the Broncos Moneyline, I like the under 42.5 points in this game. Russell Wilson is still working on finding chemistry with his new wide receivers, and now Javonte Williams is out for the year, leaving Denver with a worsened rushing attack. Meanwhile, the Colts will struggle to find offense without Jonathan Taylor in the game and with their offensive line overmatched in the game.
Next, I’m adding Melvin Gordon to score a touchdown in this game. Gordon has six red-zone touches this season, and while fumbles have been an issue, I expect him to continue to get those looks. Javonte Williams is out for the year with his ACL tear, leaving Gordon as the clear RB1. While Mike Boone and Latavius Murray will be involved, this is still Gordon’s backfield according to the Broncos’ coaches. You can get him at +120 odds to score a touchdown on FanDuel.
In addition, I’m taking a couple of plays that I highlighted in our player props article. The first is Jerry Jeudy over 52.5 receiving yards. This number has gone up a bit, but I still like it given the matchup. Jeudy will be matched up with slot corner Kenny Moore, who has struggled massively to start this season. As Wilson attempts to target the middle of the field more frequently, look for Jeudy to continue to be a focal point of the offense. His elite route-running makes him a reliable target for Wilson in the middle of the field.
Finally, I’m taking Alec Pierce over 34.5 receiving yards. The rookie was one of my favorite prospects in this draft class, and he’s become a necessary part of the offense given the Colts’ lack of other options. Pierce has excellent athleticism and ability to separate downfield. While Michael Pittman Jr. is likely shadowed by Patrick Surtain II, I expect Pierce to draw easier coverage on the other side of the field. He’s gone well over this prop in two straight weeks, and I’ll bet on him to do so again.
Put it all together, and this is the SGP we’re looking at:
- Denver Broncos Moneyline (-186)
- Under 42.5 Total Points (-114)
- Melvin Gordon Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+120)
- Jerry Jeudy Over 52.5 Receiving Yards (-113)
- Alec Pierce Over 34.5 Receiving Yards (-113)
Full SGP Odds: +2708 ($10 wins $270.85)
