SEC Tournament Preview for Games on Saturday, March 14, 2026

Florida wasted no time in their efforts of reminding the rest of the field why they are listed as the betting favorite to win the SEC Conference Championship, thwarting Kentucky 71-63. Meeting them in the semis is Vanderbilt, a unit who is capable of giving the Gators fits, possessing the production that is needed on both ends of the court to keep the contest tight.

On the other side of the bracket, Ole Miss has continued their magical run after squeaking past Alabama, now just two wins away from securing an automatic qualifying spot in the NCAA Tournament. Luckily for the Rebels, they face off against Arkansas who has struggled to create Havoc, making it easier for their shooters to create space at multiple levels of the court.

Vanderbilt vs. Florida Game Preview

After dealing with injuries and lineup configurations earlier in the year, the Florida Gators have managed to figure it out at just the right time, setting themselves up for another run at the National Championship. Their high level of play on both ends of the court makes them one of the more well rounded units in the nation, ranking in the top-10 in Adjusted Offensive and Defensive Rating per Kenpom.

While the Gators have been able to use their size and length to Block shots at a high rate, their inability to haul in Rebounds has been a constant thorn in their side, a weakness Vanderbilt is capable of exploiting. By crashing the interior, the Commodores will be able to generate a higher volume of second chance scoring opportunities, increasing their chances of matching their output.

Especially with Vanderbilt’s defense creating Havoc at a high rate on the other end, disrupting Florida’s rhythm on offense and forcing them into taking low quality shots. With advantages on both sides of the court, expect Vanderbilt to keep the contest close enough to cover the spread, as well as potentially win outright and move on to the SEC Conference Championship.

Ole Miss vs. Arkansas Game Preview

Before the start of the SEC Conference Tournament, Ole Miss severely struggled on offense, ranking well below league average in Effective Field Goal Percentage. Since the first round, the Rebels have been able to get into a groove, capitalizing on their favorable matchups to help spark a run.

Heading into Saturday, the Rebels will be able to build on their recent momentum, battling it out against an Arkansas defense who ranks outside the top-150 in Steal Percentage and in Def Rebound Percentage. With the Razorbacks incapable of face guarding, the Rebels will be able to break away from their coverage and generate high quality shot attempts for the full duration of the contest.

On the other end of the court, Darius Acuff Jr will need to continue to play at a high level as he faces off against a Rebels defense who ranks above league average in Adjusted Defensive Efficiency and in Disruptions. Acuff Jr’s versatility has played a major role in the Razorbacks success on offense this season, averaging 22.2 Points per game while shooting 43.7% from three and 49.3% from the floor.

SEC Tournament Betting Pick

While the Florida Gators hog the spotlight as the deserving favorite to win the SEC, Vanderbilt has quietly rivaled them as a viable contender capable of dethroning them, ranking 12th in Adjusted Net Rating. Their offense has been exceptional this season, residing near the top of the board in Turnover Percentage which has helped them drastically reduce the amount of variance in their contests.

In a highly anticipated matchup against Florida, expect Vanderbilt’s offense to continue to thrive, taking advantage of a Gators defense who ranks near dead last in Havoc and in Def Rebound Percentage. By allowing the Commodores to go through their sets, their spot up shooters will be able to exploit the Gators gaps in coverage around the perimeter, improving the quality of their shot attempts from three.

Speaking of Havoc, the Commodores have excelled at creating Disruptions this season, ranking in the top-60 in Block Percentage and in Steal Percentage. With their defense cutting into Florida’s total number of possessions on offense by generating Turnovers at a high rate, their chances of covering increases. If Vanderbilt’s spread crosses through the key number of +8, then reduce the size of your wager.

Best Bet: Vanderbilt (1 unit)
