Game 3 between the San Antonio Spurs (0-2) and New York Knicks (2-0) is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Eastern on ABC and ESPN. No team in NBA history has ever mounted a comeback after losing the first three games of the series, so the Spurs face a must-win game in front of an extremely hostile Madison Square Garden crowd.

Spurs vs. Knicks NBA Finals Game 3 Betting Analysis

Karl-Anthony Towns deserved the game ball after the opening clash and once again earned the honor after Game 2. Towns contributed 21 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, and two stocks while shooting 8-for-12 from the field and 3-for-5 from distance. He has exceeded expectations defensively during the first two games, and New York has now won his 68 minutes by 25 points. If Towns continues to play at this level, then the Knicks should be raising their first championship banner since 1973.

Mikal Bridges also had a relatively monstrous performance. He produced 20 points, six rebounds, and six assists on 8-for-13 shooting from the field. His 40 minutes in Game 2 paced the Knicks, so Bridges was phenomenal as a glue piece for most of the contest.

Meanwhile, San Antonio trailed by 14 points with 6:04 remaining in the fourth quarter before ripping off a 14-0 run to tie the game. The Spurs could not complete the task, as Victor Wembanyama’s potential game-winning jumper clanked off the rim.

One stat that must change for the Spurs is clutch time turnovers. New York has committed a turnover on a measly 5.9% of its clutch possessions this series, while San Antonio has done so on 17.6% of its clutch possessions. Wembanayama needs to improve as a decision maker down the stretch.

The best bet for Game 3 is taking Landry Shamet to score at least nine points. The veteran has gone 27-for-48 from distance this playoffs (56.3%), and he’s getting decent looks because New York’s stars are relentlessly creating advantages. Shamet scored 13 points in Game 1 and Game 2, and look for him to continue to be a crucial sharpshooter off the bench.
