Top Prediction Market Trades: Best World Cup Trades for Saturday, June 20
Netherlands to Win vs. Sweden (0.56¢ at Kalshi)
Netherlands is coming off a hard-fought 2-2 draw vs. Japan, while Sweden impressively blew out Tunisia 5-1.
However, the Oranje are the better side here. Even though the Swedes have been much better under new manager Graham Potter, we can’t overlook their poor qualifying campaign. This team only got into the World Cup because of Nations League results.
While I still think that Sweden will advance out of the group, Netherlands is the better team here. We’re getting a reasonable price at 56 cents at Kalshi, making them worth a look. The Dutch will need three points out of this one if they want to win the group, so expect them to push forward here.
Germany/Ivory Coast Both Teams to Score: Yes (0.56¢ at Kalshi)
Germany obliterated Curaçao 7-1 in their opener, while Côte d’Ivoire was able to get it done with a 1-0 win over a tough Ecuador side.
The Germans look a bit overvalued in this match, which could be rather competitive. Côte d’Ivoire is one of the best teams from Africa and shouldn’t be overlooked here.
That’s why I like riding with Both Teams to Score: Yes in this match. We saw the Germans concede a goal to Curaçao, who are the worst team in the tournament. Côte d’Ivoire was able to find the net against one of the best defensive teams in the world in Ecuador. This has the look of a 1-1 or 2-1 type of score line.
Ecuador/Curaçao Both Teams to Score: No (0.70¢ at Kalshi)
Ecuador is in a must-win spot against Curaçao. They need three points here because Germany is up next.
But it’s too expensive to buy Ecuador to win, so we’ll stick with Both Teams to Score: No. Ecuador was phenomenal defensively throughout CONMEBOL qualifying, conceding only five goals in 18 games.
I have a hard time seeing a scenario where Curaçao finds the back of the net. Even though we have to pay a premium for this prop, it’s still cheaper than taking Ecuador to win. This game feels like a 2-0 or 3-0 final score line, with Ecuador keeping their World Cup hopes alive.
Japan to Win vs. Tunisia (0.65¢ at Kalshi)
Japan put their quality on display in a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Netherlands, who are the group favorites. Tunisia got blown out 5-1 by Sweden, forcing them to make an extremely rare, mid-tournament coaching change, replacing Sabri Lamouchi with Herve Renard.
This is a team in total flux right now. I can’t see a new manager making his mark in such a short timeframe here. With Japan in a desperate spot for three points to remain in contention for 1st in the group, expect them to come out flying.
It wouldn’t shock me to see a 3-0 type of score line in favor of Japan here.
Not in a Legal Sports Betting State? Consider Prediction Markets
If online sportsbooks aren’t an option in your area, prediction markets provide an alternative way to engage with sporting events. Rather than wagering at fixed odds, participants trade contracts linked to event outcomes. The value of these contracts rises and falls based on market activity and how likely traders believe a particular result is. Many platforms also let users close their positions before the event ends, allowing them to lock in gains or limit losses.
In recent years, platforms such as Kalshi, Polymarket, and Fanatics have expanded the range of markets they offer. Depending on the platform, users can trade contracts on everything from game results, championship winners, and player awards to elections and a variety of other real-world events.
Prediction markets differ from traditional sportsbooks in both how they operate and the regulations that govern them. Access depends on the specific platform and the user’s location, so availability isn’t the same everywhere. Before creating an account or participating, review the platform’s eligibility rules and terms of service to ensure it is available and permitted where you live.
