Like the Panthers, the Falcons will have to deal with 4/16 games being played against two of the best quarterbacks of all time in Brees and Brady. Their schedule also comes in as the toughest in the entire league in terms of projected win totals for their opponents. Combine that with a defensive unit that has been trending in the wrong direction the past couple of years and Dan Quinn is very much on the hot seat. Opening the season against Russell Wilson and Dak Prescott is no fun for that defense. The Falcons also have to take on the Vikings in Minnesota as well as Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City late in the season. A primetime matchup in Green Bay and a couple of West Coast road trips at inopportune times make this a monster of a schedule for the Falcons. The one plus I see is they do have their bye before they have to travel to face the Saints, but there’s minimal chance of them finishing with a winning record in their division or overall. The Falcons face an uphill battle to make the playoffs this season and it’s starting to feel like the writing is on the wall for a major shakeup following this year.
