The Golden State Warriors seem to be peaking at just the right time as we are now days away from the NBA playoffs and the Los Angeles Clippers will try to lock in their playoff position tonight as they head to Oakland for a Western Conference and Pacific Division clash.
The Warriors are 55-24 on the season and are two games ahead of the Denver Nuggets for first place in the West. They’ve won their last four games and are 8-2 in their last 10 games. They look to be set up for a first-round matchup with either the San Antonio Spurs or Oklahoma City Thunder. The Clippers are 47-33 on the season and are hanging onto sixth place in the West. They have lost their last two games, but are 7-3 in their last 10 games.
In their last matchup on January 18, the Warriors topped the Clippers 112-94. Stephen Curry had 28 points in the win. Tobias Harris, who is now with the Philadelphia 76ers, scored 28 in the loss for Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Clippers have been one of the surprises of the Western Conference this season, and especially since they improved their playoff positioning and kept winning after they traded away the only player that was even close to being a superstar.
But the Clippers, with a playoff berth in tow, seem to have slowed a bit with their two-game losing streak.
“Ever since we clinched, we kind of took our foot off the gas a little bit,” Clippers guard Lou Williams said. “It’s happened, that’s the reality, and we just got to get out of it.”
The Clippers skid has come against the Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Lakers. The Clippers lost the Battle of Los Angeles on Friday night 117-122 as Alex Caruso and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope were too much for the Clippers.
The Clippers were led in the game by Danilo Gallinari, who scored 27 points. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 20 points and eight rebounds, and Lou Williams came off the bench for 18 points and eight assists.

The Golden State Warriors have taken care of business against the Charlotte Hornets, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers in this four-game streak.
“We’ve got one more before we can seal up the No. 1 seed and take care of that goal,” Stephen Curry said recently. “These next three games (are) just about finishing the right way.”
In their 120-114 win over the Cavs on Friday night, the Warriors were able to get past a hot Cleveland team that had seven players score in double figures. Curry had 40 points and seven assists in the win. Draymond Green, who seems to be scoring more and more as the season winds down, finished with 20 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Kevin Durant scored 15 points and Quinn Cook came off the bench for 14 points.
