Zion Williamson Over Alt. 28.5 Points + Rebounds, Donovan Clingan Over Alt. 20.5 Points + Rebounds, Shaedon Sharpe Over Alt. 26.5 Alt. Points + Rebounds (+211 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
We have what should be a highly competitive and high-scoring game environment on tap in his Trail Blazers-Pelicans matchup, setting us up for a solid three-leg SGP.
We’ll start with Zion, who’s already checking in blazing hot after averaging 32.7 PR across 26.3 minutes per contest in his last seven, a sample in which he’s shot 64.6% and has gone to the line an average of 9.9 times per contest as well. Williamson will also be taking the floor Friday without frontcourt mate Derik Queen in addition to Herbert Jones, and he sports a team-high 32.4% usage rate and 40.7 PR per 36 minutes with both his teammates off the floor. There’s also the fact Trey Murphy is questionable due to a lower back injury, which would further brighten Zion’s outlook.
Clingan is in an excellent spot as well, especially with Queen’s absence further thinning what is already a permeable Pelicans frontcourt. New Orleans is conceding an NBA-high 55.3 points in the paint per game, an area of the floor where Clingan is scoring just under 60% of his points. The Pelicans are also surrendering 40.7 points + rebounds to centers in the last 15 games, and Clingan has at least 21 points + rebounds in six of his last eight games, with an atypically short 17-minute outing being responsible for one of the two occasions he didn’t get there in the sample.
We’ll close out with Sharpe, who’s enjoying a breakout season that includes 27.7 points + rebounds per road game. The fourth-year wing has been especially productive since mid-December, as he’s averaging 23.4 points on blistering 45.1% three-point shooting over his last nine games. Portland is projected for a healthy 123.5 points Friday and Sharpe already has one tally of 40 points + rebounds versus the Pels this season, boosting his prospects further.
LeBron James To Score 20+ Points, Ja Morant To Score 20+ Points, Luka Doncic Over Alt 48.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (+200 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
We’re teed up for what could be one of the best game environments of the night in this Grizzlies-Lakers nightcap, as the spread is tight (as low as 3.5 in some spots) and the projected total is at 240.5 and rising.
Given those factors, it feels safe to start our SGP with a bet on LeBron getting to at least 20 points, something he’s done in six of his last nine games. Austin Reaves remains out Friday due to his calf injury and Rui Hachimura will also sit out because of a calf issue, and James is averaging 24.6 points per 36 (alongside a 30.7% usage rate) with both players off the floor this season. James has at least 20 points in seven of his first 15 games thus far, and he’s averaging 26.2 points in his last 10 contests versus Memphis.
We feel pretty good about running back the same prop with Ja, who’s coming off a 40-pointer against the 76ers on Tuesday and who’s shooting a red-hot 61.2%, including 42.9% from behind the arc, in his last three games overall. Morant should naturally serve as an integral component of any offense Memphis generates, and the Grizzlies are projected for a solid 118 points overall. The Lakers are also allowing 27.9 points per game to PGs in the last 15 games, and Morant is averaging 21.4 points in his last 10 games vs. the Lakers.
We’ll close things out with Luka, who’s always a reliable bet to stuff the stat sheet. The conventional number for his points + rebounds + assists prop is 52.5, so we’re getting a bit more security by coaxing it down a bit. Doncic is putting up 53.2 PRA per game at home this season, and 51.4 with both Hachimura and Reaves off the floor. He also lit up Memphis for 62 PRA on Halloween in the one prior meeting with the Grizzlies this season, which sets him up well in this spot.
