Donovan Mitchell To Score 25+ Points, Grayson Allen To Score 15+ Points, Collin Gillespie To Record 4+ Assists (+174 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
The Cavaliers and Suns are set for an interconference clash Friday night, one that features a tight 3.5-point spread that should lead to solid minutes for starters on both sides. There are also key absences on both sides — Darius Garland (toe) and Evan Mobley (calf) remain out for Cleveland, while Devin Booker (ankle) is sidelined for Phoenix — which helps inform our three legs for this parlay.
We’ll start with Mitchell, who’s averaging 29.4 points for the season, including 28.8 on the road. Mitchell has scored 25 or more points in 32 of 45 games, and he boasts a team-high 38.6% usage rate and averages a whopping 38.7 points per 36 minutes with both of Garland and Mobley off the floor. Mitchell is averaging a massive 27.2 field-goal attempts per 36 in that split as well, and although the Suns do have some solid defensive metrics in terms of scoring prevention at home, Phoenix is conceding the fifth-most free-throw attempts per game in that split as well.
We’ll shift over to the hosts for the last two legs and start with Allen, who’s also in position to benefit from a high-usage teammate being off the floor. With Booker on the bench this season, Allen boasts a 28.2% usage rate, along with 24.0 points on 19.2 field-goal attempts per 36 minutes. The veteran sharpshooter is averaging 18.2 points in his 12 home starts this season as well while shooting 38.5% from three-point range in that split. Allen has hit or eclipsed the 15-point mark in 17 games overall, and the Cavs are allowing the 10th-most made three-pointers on the road (14.1).
We’ll wrap up with Gillespie, who’s averaging 6.0 assists per 36 with Booker off the floor and is facing a Cavs squad allowing the fourth-most assists to PGs in the last 15 games (9.4). Cleveland ranks in the bottom half of the league with 27.3 assists per road game allowed overall, and Gillespie has managed to dish out at least four assists in 35 of 47 games. With more usage and ball-handling responsibility in Booker’s absence, this is a viable leg to tack on.
Nic Claxton Over Alt. 21.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists, Keyonte George To Score 20+ Points, Egor Demin Over Alt. 15.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (+176 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
The Nets and Jazz are set for a late-night battle in the desert, and both teams approach the meeting short-handed. The Nets will be without both Michael Porter Jr. (rest) and Noah Clowney (back), while the Jazz will be sans Lauri Markkanen (rest) and Jusuf Nurkic (illness) among their front-line players.
Those missing players largely set up our parlay, beginning with the Over on Claxton’s Alt. PRA total of 21.5. The big man would be in a favorable matchup against the Jazz’s suspect frontcourt — which will also be missing Kevin Love (illness) — under any circumstance, but even more so with his two teammates off the floor. Claxton averages 25.8 points + rebounds + assists per 36 minutes with both Porter and Clowney on the bench, and the Jazz checks in allowing the second-most points (24.6) and fourth-most rebounds (16.1) to centers in the last 15 games. Additionally, Utah’s weaknesses preventing scoring in the paint (52.1 allowed per home game) dovetails well with Claxton’s profile, considering he’s scoring 76.4% of his points in that part of the floor.
We’ll continue with George, who naturally always benefits when both Markkanen and Nurkic are off the floor. The talented point guard is averaging 25.7 points on 17.7 FGA per 36 minutes when the two big men are on the bench, and George also checks into Friday averaging 23.9 points over his last 15 games. George has reached or exceeded the 20-point mark on 30 occasions overall this season, with 16 of those instances coming at home. Brooklyn is surrendering 49.1% shooting overall as well, including 53.2% over the last three games.
We’ll revert back to the Brooklyn side to wrap things up with Demin, who, like Clowney, is poised to benefit from the short-handed starting five the Nets will roll out Friday. Demin is averaging 21 points + rebounds + assists per 36 minutes with both Porter and Clowney off the floor, a split where he averages a solid 12.3 FGA as well. While consistency remains a work in progress for the rookie, he is averaging 19.1 points + rebounds + assists in his last 18 games while shooting 43.9% from three-point range in that span. Consequently, multiple indicators are there for him to clear what isn’t a particularly challenging threshold by any stretch.
