Collin Gillespie Over 12.5 Points, Mark Williams 8+ Rebounds, Karl-Anthony Towns Under Alt. 39.5 Points + Rebounds (+227 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
The Knicks-Suns interconference clash is projected to be a tight game with a solid-but-not particularly elevated combined scoring total (228.5), so we’re planning on three-leg SGP with that overarching theme in mind.
Nevertheless, our first leg does bank on a serviceable scoring night for Gillespie, who’s enjoying a breakout season while holding down the starting point guard role for the Suns. The third-year guard is averaging 13.6 points per game overall, including 15.2 over his last 11 games despite a slight downturn in the last three games. He’s in a very favorable positional matchup Friday as well, as the Knicks are surrendering 117.8 points per road game (over five more per contest than at home) and 50.7% shooting over the last three overall. NY is also conceding the fourth-most points per game to ones (28.8) in the last 15.
Next, we’ll attack Karl-Anthony Towns’ suspect defense down low by banking on an eight-or-better-rebound effort from Williams, who’s pulling down 8.3 boards per game for the season, and 9.3 over his last eight contests overall. With Towns on the floor plenty, Williams should see his fair share of playing time to counter his size, and the Knicks check in surrendering a league-high 16.9 rebounds to centers in the last 15 games. The fact the Suns surrender middling 45.2% shooting at home should also set up Williams with extra opportunity on the defensive glass.
And to round things out, we’ll stay with KAT but pick on the alternate points + rebounds total of 39.5 to go Under. The matchup against Williams and the Suns in general isn’t the most welcoming, as Phoenix is conceding the seventh-fewest points per game to centers in the last 15 (19.7) and 14.9 rebounds per contest to the position in the same same span. Even with KAT playing a normal allotment of minutes, he’s averaging 33 points + rebounds per road game, and he’s fallen under 39.5 in 27 of 34 games overall.
Kevin Porter Jr. Over Alt. 6.5 Assists, Luka Doncic Over Alt. 45.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists, Giannis Antetokounmpo Over Alt. 42.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (+174 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
The Bucks and Lakers wrap up the Friday night slate with a late-night clash out west that carries a tight 3-point spread in favor of the hosts and a solid 230.5-point total as of mid-afternoon.
We’re therefore relying on what should be a full allotment of minutes for the game’s two biggest stars, and some corresponding production. However, before we get to Luka and the Greek Freak, we’ll focus on Porter, who’s an ascending figure in his own right and is averaging a career-high 7.8 assists, including an even better 8.6 over his last 14 games. The talented point guard is in a solid spot matchup-wise, considering the Lakers are surrendering the second-most assists (10.2) to PGs in the last 15 games and league-high 50.1% shooting at home for the season.
Moving on to Luka, his Alt. PRA figure of 45.5 is certainly a manageable one for him, particularly in a close game. Doncic has been over the number in five of his last six games alone, and he’s at 52.8 PRA per game at home for the season. We’re dealing with a conventional figure of 51.5 for this prop, so we’re giving ourselves a nice cushion against a Bucks squad allowing the fourth-most assists to PGs in the last 15 games (10.1) and against which Luka put up 56 points + rebounds + assists in the one previous meeting.
We’ll wrap things up with Antetokounmpo, who put up 47 points + rebounds + assists in the previous game against the Lakers back on Nov. 15, and did so over a relatively modest 32 minutes. The big man is also averaging 44.6 points + rebounds + assists in just 28.5 minutes across his last six games. The Lakers’ generosity on their home floor when it comes to shooting was already highlighted in Porter’s entry, and Giannis also has 5+ assists in 14 of 23 games, supporting the notion he can also hold up his end of the bargain in that regard to help this leg cash.
