No. 1 Pick Odds
It’s going to be Mendoza.
Pick: Fernando Mendoza
No. 2 Pick Odds
I go back and forth with this pick almost every day. CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones says that he’s hearing that teams expect the Jets to take Bailey.
Bailey is a sure thing, while Reese has more upside. That said, I think the Jets want a more predictable asset, so I’ll take a chance on Bailey who was productive in college.
Pick: David Bailey
No. 3 Pick Odds
Whether this is the Chiefs, as in my mock draft above, or the Cardinals, either team would have a hard time passing up on Reese.
The Cardinals could use a player like Rees,e as you can never have too many edge rushers, and the Chiefs desperately need pass-rushing help and just more dynamism on defense as a whole.
Regardless of who’s picking, I think Reese would be the pick here.
Pick: Arvell Reese
No. 4 Pick Odds
I’m going to stand firm on my belief that the Titans will take Love in this spot. I know Robert Saleh likes waves of pass rushers, and Sonny Styles would be his version of Fred Warner, but this team needs to help quarterback Cam Ward take the next step. A dynamic running back like Love would do that.
I also like the value of Carnell Tate at +1300 but if you followed along we’ve been beating our chest with Love here who had plus-value earlier.
Pick: Jeremiyah Love
No. 5 Pick Odds
The Giants’ first of two picks inside the top 10 in this scenario, I think, will be Tate. In my scenario above, they still get their linebacker, but Tate isn’t making it to No. 10.
This provides a fantastic weapon for Jaxson Dart and the perfect WR2 to Malik Nabers, who’s coming off a torn ACL.
Pick: Carnell Tate
No. 6 Pick Odds
With Tate off the board, the Browns are forced to pivot. I strongly considered Makai Lemon in this spot as he’s my WR1, but instead, I’m going with a versatile offensive lineman in Spencer Fano. There will be injuries along the offensive line, and the current iteration won’t be there forever.
If Daward Jones can’t play, Tytus Howard could move to left tackle, and Fano could be right tackle. Or, if Howard had to move, Teven Jenkins could kick outside at right tackle if Fano isn’t good to go, and Fano could play right guard.
Fano’s versatility will be a big win for the Browns.
Pick: Spencer Fano
No. 7 Pick Odds
Styles would be a great pick here, but the Commanders desperately need some pass-rushing help. They pass up on the freaky athleticism of Styles for the ultra-powerful Bain Jr, who may have shorter arms than you’d like, but he wins with power.
Pick: Rueben Bain Jr.
No. 8 Pick Odds
I’ve been picking Lemon to the Saints for months now, and I’m not moving off of it. I understand they could be interested in Tyson or someone like Delane or Downs, but Lemon just makes way too much sense to go alongside Chris Olave.
Tyson’s injury concerns cause the Saints to get the fantastic route-runner.
Pick: Makai Lemon
No. 9 Pick Odds
With the trade up, the Cardinals’ first selection comes at No. 9 overall. Here, they get the right tackle that they may have just taken at No. 3 overall in Mauigoa. He played right tackle throughout college, and he’d be an immediate upgrade over Elijah Wilkinson.
Pick: Francis Mauigoa
No. 10 Pick Odds
The Giants’ second pick comes here at No. 10 and with Styles on the board, they sprint the card in and pair him with Tremaine Edmunds.
In trading away Lawrence, they may want a defensive tackle, but at No. 37, they may have players like Lee Hunter, Peter Woods, Christen Miller, and more available.
Pick: Sonny Styles
No. 11 Pick Odds
Downs is still on the board, which is tempting as an easy win, but Delane will step in right away and be a starting outside cornerback. He plays press coverage, and he can get physical, which would be a nice addition to what’s been a fairly finesse Dolphins squad over the last number of years.
Pick: Mansoor Delane
No. 12 Pick Odds
The Downs fall stops here. Taking a cornerback like McCoy would be smart, but Downswillo steps in and is ready to go. He’s been a pro athlete for the last couple of seasons. He plays well near the line of scrimmage, is willing to tackle, and is excellent at identifying coverage.
I’d love to see him go after the ball more, but either way, he’ll provide a massive upgrade to the Cowboys’ secondary.
Pick: Caleb Downs
No. 13 Pick Odds
Tyson makes sense here to go along with Davante Adams and Puka Nacua, but with Alaric Jackson’s deal up after 20927 and Freeling needing more time to develop, they draft their left tackle of the future. He could also step in at left guard for Steve Avila, whose contract is up after this season.
Pick: Monroe Freeling
No. 14 Pick Odds
The Ravens have a need at tight end with Mark Andrews getting older and Isaiah Likely leaving for the Giants.
Sure, they have a defensive-minded head coach now in Jesse Minter, but he’s got to recognize that Lamar Jackson cannot go into next season with his weapons being Zay Flowers, Andrews, Rashod Bateman, and Tez Walker.
Pick: Kenyon Sadiq
No. 15 Pick Odds
With Ioane on the board, the Buccaneers get an immediate upgrade to their offensive line to protect Baker Mayfield next season and beyond. Remember, Mayfield got injured later in the season, and his caliber of play dropped considerably.
He’ll step right in at left guard and have Pro Bowl-caliber play right away. He’s a fantastic guard who will also do well in the run blocking department.
Pick: Olaivavega Ioane
