The reason for this is simple: USA has a significant edge on the mound. Paul Skenes is one of the best pitchers in the world, while Luis Severino is just a veteran innings-eater.

With that said, USA hasn’t been that impressive in this tournament. They’ve lost to Italy, while squeaking by Canada and Mexico.

It’s a battle of hitting vs. pitching here in what could be the game of the tournament.
