2026 World Baseball Classic Pool Play Odds, Picks & Betting Analysis

The 2026 World Baseball Classic is right around the corner, so it’s a great time to start looking at the DraftKings betting odds to see if we can find value in our baseball futures bets.

While the USA, Japan, and the Dominican Republic are the heavy favorites, that doesn’t mean there won’t be any surprises. We can still hit a nice return on investment by correctly choosing an underdog.

On this page, we’re going to break down the 2026 World Baseball Classic pool play odds, focusing on futures bets for the winners in group stage. Let’s take a look at the odds and then provide a couple of best bets!

World Baseball Classic Pool Play Odds

World Baseball Classic betting odds are courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook as of Thursday, February 26 at 4 p.m. ET.

Pool A

Pool A is the best spot to find value in choosing the group winner. Puerto Rico looks overpriced at (-130) odds. This is a team that is missing two of its best players in Francisco Lindor and Carlos Correa, who are unable to participate due to insurance coverage issues. While Puerto Rico has home-field advantage here (each Pool A game will take place in San Juan), this still feels like an inflated line.

Best Bet: Canada

Canada provides the best value for winning this group. Even though Freddie Freeman and Nick Pivetta aren’t playing, this team still has some good hitters like Josh Naylor and Tyler O’Neill, along with an elite defender in Denzel Clarke. While the pitching isn’t good, there are big-leaguers like Jameson Taillon and Michael Soroka.

When you look at this group, it’s pretty winnable, especially with an undermanned Puerto Rico squad. Cuba isn’t as strong as you’d think, with only Luis Robert Jr. and Yoan Moncada as the notable big leaguers. Meanwhile, Colombia only has one big leaguer (Jose Quintana), while Panama has two (Miguel Amaya, Jose Caballero).

With that in mind, Canada looks like a rock-solid play at odds.

Pool B

It’s really difficult to envision a scenario where USA doesn’t win Pool B. This is an unbelievably stacked roster, highlighted by the two best pitchers in baseball in Tarik Skubal and Paul Skenes. The lineup is also filled with stars that includes Bobby Witt Jr., Gunnar Henderson, and Aaron Judge. Mexico is the only viable challenger, as they have a few talented players that includes Alejandro Kirk, Randy Arozarena, and Jarren Duran. However, it would be a massive upset if they were to get it done.

Best Bet: None

It’s hard to lay (-800) juice on a futures bet, especially since anything can happen in a small sample. If you want to find a way to bet on USA, target them to win the entire tournament as that would only cost you (-115) odds. It’s also a good idea to take USA on the run line, especially against the lower-tier teams of this group, like Brazil and Great Britain. Those games could turn into huge blowouts, as these teams are completely overmatched here.

Pool C

We have a similar situation as Pool B, in Pool C. It’s a tough sell to choose any team other than Japan to win this group. The defending WBC champions once again have a stacked roster that includes Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Seiya Suzuki, Munetaka Murakami, and Kazuma Okamoto. Even with the pitching being a bit thin outside of Yamamoto, with Yusei Kikuchi and Tomoyuki Sugano as the other big leaguers, we have to remember that Japan has home-field advantage in this group since the games are in Tokyo.

Best Bet: None

As with USA it would be unwise to lay (-700) on a futures bet, but it’s difficult to see anyone else winning this group. With that said, Japan is more vulnerable than USA, since they’re not as good on paper. South Korea would be the biggest threat, but they’re nowhere near as talented as Japan. While it will be nice to see former big leaguer Hyun Jin Ryu in action again, we’re going to pass on finding an underdog to knock off Japan here.

Pool D

Pool D is another spot where we can find value. The Dominican Republic has an absolutely stacked roster. The lineup is arguably the best in the tournament with Juan Soto, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Fernando Tatis Jr., and Julio Rodriguez leading the way. The pitching is a bit thin, but it has two inning-eaters who have dominated in their careers in Cristopher Sanchez and Sandy Alcantara. However, taking the Dominicans to win this division looks quite affordable.

Best Bet: Dominican Republic

We only have to pay juice to take this stacked Dominican team. They failed to advance out of the group stage in the 2023 WBC, finishing third behind Venezuela and Puerto Rico, but they’re looking to avenge that poor performance. That was a disastrous result for this team, so don’t expect it to happen again.

While Venezuela has a talented squad led by Ronald Acuña Jr., they’re not on par with the Dominican Republic. This is my pick to win the tournament, so I’m riding with them to win Pool D as well.

You can put a full unit on the Dominican Republic and sprinkle 0.25 units on Canada in our pool play best bets.
