Best Soccer DFS & Goal Scoring Picks for Matches on Wednesday, April 22, 2026
The English Premier League and La Liga continue their midweek schedules with a five-game slate on Wednesday afternoon. Additionally, Ligue 1 has one makeup game scheduled, with PSG set to host Nantes at the Parc des Princes.
The EPL table is still very much fluid throughout, with just five weeks remaining in the season. Manchester City is now the odds-on favorite to win the league after defeating Arsenal 2-1 last weekend.
Now, Pep Guardiola’s squad travels to Turf Moor to take on 19th-placed Burnley. City enters Wednesday’s match as large road favorites as they look to extend their 10-game unbeaten streak in the EPL. Meanwhile, Burnley has little to no chance of escaping relegation to the Championship. Scott Parker’s squad will look to pick up its first home victory in the EPL since mid-October.
Moving to the South Coast of England, Bournemouth is set to host Leeds at Vitality Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. Andoni Iraola’s squad will have the opportunity to overtake both Chelsea and Brighton in the table, should they secure three points. Bournemouth would then be in a prime position to play European football for the first time in the club’s existence. Leeds will look to spoil Bournemouth’s chances as large road underdogs in this match. The North England club is set to finish somewhere in the lower half of the table, barring any miraculous results.

- Burnley vs. Manchester City – 3:00 p.m./USA
Two of La Liga’s three fixtures kick off earlier in the afternoon, with Elche hosting Atletico Madrid, and Real Sociedad hosting Getafe.
Elche will be eager for a result following Alaves’ loss to Real Madrid on Tuesday afternoon. Elche sits just one point under Alaves in La Liga’s table, with Eder Sarabia’s club currently sitting in the relegation zone. Atletico Madrid enters this match as slight road underdogs, despite being the much stronger team this season. Diego Simeone’s club has already locked up its top-four spot in La Liga and will be primarily focused on the upcoming Champions League semifinal tie with Arsenal.
Real Sociedad opens up as a slight home favorite over Getafe, as the two clubs fight for a spot in one of UEFA’s tournaments next season. Sociedad sits just one point above Getafe in a Europa League spot at the moment. Getafe will hope to avoid being swept by Sociedad, who already beat them back in January.
La Liga’s final match on Wednesday features the current league favorites, Barcelona. The Catalans are set to host Celta at the Spotify Camp Nou, with Barcelona heavily favored in the matchup. Hansi Flick’s squad has been nearly perfect in La Liga since the new year, winning 11 out of 13 matches – including seven in a row. Barcelona sits just six points ahead of Real Madrid, with the two clubs set to face off at the end of May.
- Elche vs. Atletico Madrid – 1:00 p.m./ESPN+
- Real Sociedad vs. Getafe – 2:00 p.m./ESPN+
- Barcelona vs. Celta Vigo – 3:30 p.m./ESPN+
In what many may consider a must-win match for the reigning Ligue 1 Champions, PSG will look to build on their one-point lead over Lens in the table. Luis Enrique’s squad suffered its fifth defeat in Ligue 1 this season at the hands of Marseille this past weekend. PSG will look to bounce back as significant home favorites over 17th-placed Nantes.
- PSG vs. Nantes – 1:0 p.m./beIN
Wednesday’s Best Soccer DFS Picks

Erling Haaland, Manchester City ($9,500)
We went with the Premier League’s top goalscorer this season as our first forward for Wednesday’s lineup. Despite a “down” season for Haaland, the Norwegian striker still has a league-high 30 G/A in the EPL this season.
Haaland will look to score for the second consecutive week after opening the scoring in last week’s win over Arsenal.
Evanilson, Bournemouth ($5,400)
Bournemouth’s number nine rounds out our forward position in this lineup. Evanilson’s G/A number might not wow you at first glance; however, at just $5,400 of our budget, the Brazilian striker is serviceable here.
Leeds have struggled at times this season with physical strikers, and it would not surprise me to see Evanilson find a goal contribution in this match.
Nico O’Reilly, Manchester City ($8,000)
Nico O’Reilly is quickly becoming one of Guardiola’s most well-rounded players on the squad. The English international can be played in the midfield or as a fullback, but has still been contributing to goals recently.
O’Reilly will rack up stats both on offense and defense, justifying his $8,000 pricepoint here.
Rayan Cherki, Manchester City ($8,600)
Rayan Cherki has commanded a significant role on City’s squad due to his creativity and knack for finding the back of the net. The French attacking midfielder has four goal contributions in his last three games across all competitions.
Cherki is one of the more expensive midfield options; however, his value is undeniable.
Marc Guehi, Manchester City ($4,300)
Our first defensive choice for this lineup will be City center back, Marc Guehi. The English international has been solid at the back for many years now, and always seems to be a threat during set-piece situations.
After allocating so much of our funds to the midfield, Guehi at $4,300 provides a top-notch defender with some offensive upside in his match.
Marcos Senesi, Bournemouth ($3,200)
Similar to Guehi, taking Maros Senesi as our second and final defender is necessary based on how our squad is built.
Senesi has proven to be far less of a threat offensively, but has been one of the best CBs in the EPL this season. Look for Argentina to play a significant role against a Leeds team that has a steady attack throughout the game.
Dorde Petrovic, Bournemouth ($5,100)
For several of the same reasons we selected Senesi for this lineup, we also went with his goalkeeper, Dorde Petrovic. Of the four EPL keepers playing on Wednesday, Petrovic would objectively be considered the second best behind Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Rather than selecting the City keeper facing the lesser team, we went with Petrovic, who will be forced to make several saves against a stronger Leeds side. While Petrovic may not finish with a clean sheet, the Bournemouth keeper will surely be more active than Donnarumma on Wednesday.
Alex Scott, Bournemouth ($5,800)
Rounding out our lineup is Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott. Scott has been pivotal in Bournemouth’s success this season, and particularly over the last few games. The 22-year-old has four G/A on the season, most recently scoring two weeks prior against Arsenal.
Scott has really made a name for himself this season in defense. The English midfielder averages nearly 5 balls recovered per game with over 1.5 tackles per contest. Look for Scott to rack up defensive stats in this match, with the possibility of contributing to a goal.
Wednesday’s Best Soccer Goal Scoring Pick
Best Bet: Ferran Torres
The best goal-scoring pick for Wednesday’s matches is Barcelona’s Ferran Torres vs. Celta. Torres has worked himself back into a starting role for the Spanish Champions after scoring three goals and assisting another in his last two starts.
Celta struggled to contain Barcelona striker, Robert Lewandowski, the first time these clubs met this season. The veteran attacker finished with a hat trick in a 4-2 victory back in September. Should Torres be given the nod in this match, you can expect the Spanish attacker to have similar success as his teammate against Celta.
