Boston Celtics vs. Philadelphia 76ers Game 4 Preview, Picks & Odds for Sunday, April 26, 2026

The Boston Celtics dominated the Philadelphia 76ers in the first game of this series, but the action has been ultra-competitive in the past two games between these Atlantic Division rivals. Philadelphia roared back for a 111-97 win in Game 2 and Boston came up with a clutch 108-100 win on the road in Game 3.

Tipoff for Game 4 is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET Sunday at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia with NBC on the broadcast.

These teams played three very tight games early in the season that were decided by a total of 4 points. Joel Embiid was limited at that point in the season and the Sixers star center remains inactive in this series after an emergency appendectomy. Boston is almost fully healthy, although Jaylen Brown appeared to hurt his ankle in the fourth quarter of Friday’s win.

Celtics vs. 76ers Betting Analysis

The Celtics played at the slowest pace in the NBA this season and kept it methodical in Game 3, which seemed to limit Philadelphia’s explosive backcourt. Oddsmakers have once again installed the Celtics as 7.5-point favorites to open with a total of 213.5 points, 2 points lower than the opening line ahead of Game 3.

Boston’s perimeter shooting has dipped over the past two games with Derrick White notably slumping. Nikola Vucevic logged big minutes down the stretch Friday and finished 3-for-9 from deep while missing a bunch of open looks. Payton Pritchard and Vucevic played starter’s minutes ahead of nominal starters Neemias Queta and Sam Hauser.

White is an intriguing buy-low candidate with +116 odds to top 2.5 made 3-pointers. The veteran is locked into big minutes and is getting plenty of opportunities with Brown and Jayson Tatum creating.

On the other side of the ball, Tyrese Maxey is the guy to back. He needed 31 shots to get to 31 points in Game 3, but that usage is reliable with Embiid out. Maxey is a mismatch for even the great Celtics defense and he can get to the basket or step back for 3-pointers. Books are opening with a line of 33.5 combined points and assists for Maxey that should be attacked.

Cleary oddsmakers were spot on with the spread ahead of Game 3. The Sixers looked primed to cover or potentially win, but Boston’s playoff experience was on display in a narrow cover. Boston has a higher ceiling and would be worth backing at -7.5 or taking a gamble on margin of victory with +170 odds that the Celtics again win by 1-10 points.

Celtics vs. 76ers Best Bet, Pick & Prediction

Best Bet: Tyrese Maxey O26.5 points (-122)
Score Prediction: Celtics 111, 76ers 107

Maxey is 22-for-59 from the field over the past two games in this series. The Celtics installed a good defensive game plan to limit his driving lanes in Game 1, but he quickly adjusted with more perimeter play and he’s 10-for-22 from deep in those games.

The Sixers superstar is getting +190 odds to hit at least four 3-pointers in this follow-up. It might be worth parlaying Maxey to score 25-plus points and hit at least three triples at even money. He should do damage both inside and out and his points prop can be “laddered” to 30 points along with 2, 3, or 4 made 3-pointers to generate up to +200 odds.
