With the Dallas Stars in desperate need of securing at least one win on the road, they were able to do just that in double overtime, taking a 2-1 series lead over the Minnesota Wild. Their back line put together a dominant performance, holding the Wild to just 1.94 Expected Goals.

Heading into Saturday, the Stars back line will need to continue to ward off the Wild, bottling up a group who ranks in the top half of the board in most offensive metrics. With both front lines struggling to break through each other’s suffocating coverage, expect game four to be a defensive slugfest, featuring a low volume of Shots on Goal.

It has been a turbulent past few weeks of play for the Dallas Stars front line, a unit who has stumbled down to the middle of the board in Expected Goals For.
