Denver Nuggets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Game 6 Preview, Picks & Odds for Thursday, April 30, 2026
Game 6 between the Denver Nuggets (2-3) and Minnesota Timberwolves (3-2) is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. Eastern on ESPN. Anthony Edwards, Donte DiVincenzo, and Peyton Watson remain sidelined, while Aaron Gordon, Ayo Dosunmu, and Naz Reid are questionable to play.
Nuggets vs. Timberwolves Betting Analysis
Denver’s offense got back on track in Game 5 to the tune of 125 points. Nikola Jokić finally broke through Rudy Gobert’s defense and had himself an efficient night both as a scorer and playmaker. Cam Johnson and Spencer Jones also provided the supplemental scoring that the Nuggets have lacked all series.
When asked whether anything was different about Denver’s approach, Johnson said the following during a post-game interview – “We just cleaned up some little things. Able to get out in transition a little bit, make runs that way, and just be a little bit more physical.” Rising to the Wolves’ level of physicality is a must for the Nuggets in Game 6, especially since Denver is on the road.
On the other side, Minnesota shot 50.6% from the field and 42.9% from deep. The Wolves’ offense was promising considering their superstar and best three-point shooter were both out. Minnesota could have won the game if it did not commit 25 turnovers, but that’s what happens when Edwards and DiVincenzo are not there to handle the basketball.
Terrence Shannon Jr. is a name to monitor for the Wolves. He has not received consistent playing time throughout his young career, but the sophomore is capable of exploding for stretches. If Minnesota’s offense hits a dry spell in Game 6, then Shannon may see more minutes off the bench because of his three-point shooting and self-created scoring.
The best bet is taking Christian Braun to score a maximum of 10 points. The famous notion that role players shoot better at home applies to Braun, as he seems to possess more confidence in front of the Nuggets’ crowd. During the regular season, Braun averaged 13.3 points (53.9 FG%) at home compared to 10.5 points (49.4 FG%) on the road. Overall, Braun has scored 9, 12, and 16 points at home this series versus 2 and 8 points at Minnesota.
