Detroit Pistons vs. Orlando Magic Game 3 Preview, Picks & Odds for Saturday, April 25, 2026

Game 3 between the Detroit Pistons (1-1) and Orlando Magic (1-1) is set for 1 p.m. Eastern on NBC Sports. Can Orlando bounce back and protect its home-court advantage? Or will the Pistons take a 2-1 series lead and prove why they are the one seed?

Pistons vs. Magic Betting Analysis

After losing Game 1 at home despite being 8.5-point favorites, Detroit used a 30-3 run in the third quarter to take Game 2. The Pistons’ defensive rotations were much crisper, and they did a better job of protecting the rim.

Here’s what Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff said during his post-game interview when asked about the 30-3 run: “We just played defense. It’s that simple. When we play defense at the level we are capable of, it triggers everything for us.”

Detroit finished the regular season ranked second in defensive rating, so Orlando scoring 98.5 points per 100 possessions this series is not a fluke (especially given the Magic’s offensive woes). But are the Pistons able to score enough to swiftly end this first-round matchup? It’s unlikely as of this moment because Orlando has shut down Jalen Duren’s interior scoring and Daniss Jenkins’ creation off the bench. The Magic have also matched Detroit’s physicality and possess the personnel to continue this trend.

Cade Cunningham and Paolo Banchero are both going to post numbers, so this war likely comes down to which supporting cast scores enough to break offensive droughts. Orlando theoretically owns more top-end firepower between Desmond Bane and Franz Wagner, but its cast is more inconsistent.

The best bet for Game 3 is taking Detroit to cover the 2.5-point spread. The Pistons’ defense and superstar are more consistent than Orlando’s, and they solved some of their defensive issues from Game 1. Detroit also excelled on the road during the regular season, and the team has enough confidence to completely ignore the road crowd. While this series likely goes at least six games, look for the Pistons to take care of business in Game 3.
