With their backs to a wall, the Edmonton Oilers were able to avoid elimination, beating Anaheim 4-1 in game five. While their win looks impressive on paper, the Oilers actually were very fortunate to extend the series, losing to the Ducks in Expected Goals 2.68-1.88.

With positive regression looming large over Anaheim’s front line, expect the Ducks to round back into dominant form and overwhelm the Oilers by consistently pressuring their crease.
