Thunder At Pacers Game 4: NBA Finals Spread, Moneyline, Total

NBA Finals Game 4 Same-Game Parlay (-115, DraftKings Sportsbook): Oklahoma City Thunder ML & Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 30+ Points

The Thunder have lost back-to-back games only twice all season — once in November and once in April. They are excellent at responding to mistakes, and I expect them to enter Game 4 with a sense of urgency that will put Game 3 in the rearview mirror.

It’s also a bounce-back spot for SGA. In six Game 3s across the last two postseasons, he has averaged 23.6 points per game on 38.7% shooting from the field. For reasons unknown, Gilgeous-Alexander mightily struggles in these spots.

However, in five Game 4s across the last two postseasons, he’s produced 32.2 points per game on 46.2% shooting. Defenders have a difficult time slowing him down in consecutive matchups. Thanks to better preparation from Mark Daigneault and more Isaiah Hartenstein minutes, I expect the regular-season MVP to have more space to attack.

I would play the parlay at 1.5 units.

Isaiah Hartenstein Over 15.5 PRA (+102, FanDuel Sportsbook)

Oklahoma City lost Game 3 because it was overwhelmed by Indiana’s physicality in the fourth quarter. The offense also couldn’t create quality shots when Gilgeous-Alexander wasn’t involved in the action.

The Thunder need to make adjustments, and giving Hartenstein more minutes seems to be a logical start. He can do the dirty work by boxing out and fighting for contested rebounds, which conserves energy for everyone else. Hartenstein’s hard screens also wrench open space and reduce the amount of contact his teammates have to endure on cuts and pick-and-rolls.

His passing adds more layers to the offense beyond asking SGA or Jalen Williams to score out of high ball screens or isolation opportunities. Plus, Hartenstein has had success driving to the hoop when nothing emerges from dribble handoffs.

The downside is that Indiana should generate more decent 3-point attempts because Hartenstein cannot close out on shooters like a wing or guard. However, the positives outweigh the negatives. His presence gives Oklahoma City the physicality advantage back and diversifies its offensive arsenal.

Although plus-minus is far from a perfect snapshot of what’s going on, the Thunder are +15 through three games with Hartenstein on the court. Only Aaron Wiggins and Obi Toppin have better results.

I suggest playing this line at one unit.

Chet Holmgren First Basket (+500, FanDuel Sportsbook)

Holmgren took Oklahoma City’s first shot at the largest rate of any Thunder starter during the regular season, and that has continued this playoffs. He’s attacking the Pacers early on in games, and they struggle mightily to stop him when his legs are fresh in the first half.

I would play the line at half of a unit among the NBA first basket odds.
