Jalen Brunson (NYK) – Over Points + Rebounds + Assists
Brunson just wrapped up an impressive first-round series against the Hawks and now has had a few valuable days of rest, which is a particularly significant advantage at this stage of the postseason. Brunson averaged 35 points + rebounds + assists across 34.8 minutes per contest versus Atlanta, and although that number is short of tonight’s prop, it’s worth noting the veteran point guard only had to play 29 minutes in Game 6 on Thursday due to the lopsided nature of New York‘s massive 140-89 thrashing.
Brunson’s rest edge over a 76ers team that just finished a grueling seven-game series against the Celtics could particularly be evident in Game 1, and this 37.5 number is therefore one that catches the eye. Brunson already enjoyed plenty of success against Philadelphia during the regular season, averaging 39.3 points + rebounds + assists over 36.7 minutes per contest in the first three games versus the Sixers while shooting 39.1% from long distance. Brunson then provided only eight points over 30 minutes in New York’s 138-89 blowout on Feb. 11, but he took only six shot attempts in that game. His usage should naturally be very elevated Monday, putting the 37.5 in his wheelhouse.

Tyrese Maxey (PHI) – Over Points + Assists
Maxey was terrific in the the 76ers’ momentous first-round comeback against the Celtics, and after a so-so-by-his-standards Game 1 where he posted 21 points and eight assists with just a single rebound, the star guard roared back with a fantastic Games 2-7. Maxey averaged 34.1 points + assists across 41.7 minutes over that six-game sample, shooting 47.3%, including 43.1% from behind the arc. Maxey’s usage remained through the roof despite Joel Embiid playing in the last four games of the series, as the former averaged 21.8 field-goal attempts per contest.
The same level of involvement should naturally persist in the second round, and Maxey’s youth (25 years old) should help him in terms of fatigue level coming out of that first-round grind against the Celtics. Additionally, while Joel Embiid is expected to play in Game 1, there’s always a chance of an in-game setback or limitations for the big man, who took multiple shots to his gimpy knee during Game 7 on Saturday night. It’s also very much worth noting Maxey thrived in this matchup during the regular season, averaging 35.3 points + assists and shooting 51.2%, including 50.0% from three-point range, across 36.3 minutes over four games.

Victor Wembanyama (SAN) – Over Points + Rebounds
Wembanyama missed one game during the first-round series against the Trail Blazers, but he was excellent when on the floor. The big man averaged 29.8 points + rebounds across just 28.3 minutes per contest over his four contests, shooting 58.3%, including a blistering 53.8% from three-point range. The Spurs weren’t necessarily pushed very hard in the games Wemby played except for Game 2, but this second-round clash against the Timberwolves is expected to play out differently, which should lead to the dominant big man seeing more time on the floor and therefore having a chance to boost both his scoring and rebounding numbers.
Wembanyama didn’t have much trouble against Rudy Gobert and the T-Wolves during the regular season, averaging 42.0 points + rebounds across 29.0 minutes over two games versus Minnesota. Going back to the regular season, Wembanyama is 6-3 to the 38.5 number over his last nine contests, and he’s pulling in an impressive 63.6% of his 13.8 rebounding opportunities per game thus far in the postseason.
