Paul George (PHI) – Over Points + Rebounds
The 76ers only have a one-game deficit in their series against the Celtics, but the vibe coming out of that Game 1 loss makes it feel like Philly is already on the brink of elimination. Boston looks dominant now that Jayson Tatum is seemingly playing at a different speed than his tired opponents due to the early-March start to his season, but that simply means the 76ers will have to up their aggression in Game 2, for pride if nothing else. Enter George, who wasn’t bad in Game 1 with 17 points, four rebounds and one assist, but who took just eight shot attempts.
It’s a virtual certainty the veteran forward will be more aggressive Tuesday, and that makes this 22.5 points + rebounds line very intriguing. As just mentioned, George got to 21 points + rebounds with his modest involvement in Game 1, so a notable boost in shot attempts will give him a very good chance of cashing this prop. The Celtics are never an appealing matchup on paper, but George’s usage gives us confidence in this Over.

Jrue Holiday (POR) – Over Points + Assists
The Blazers unsurprisingly dropped Game 1 on the road to the Spurs, and Holiday had an atypically ragged shooting night. The veteran guard was just 4-for-15 from the floor, but he did excel as a facilitator with 11 assists. Holiday also averaged 23.2 points + assists across 31.2 minutes in the last 25 games of the regular season, so Sunday’s performance was below those standards and came in a game where Holiday wasn’t shy about putting up his shot (15 FGA).
Much like just discussed with George and the Celtics, Holiday’s matchup isn’t aesthetically pleasing on paper. However, the Spurs were only middle of the pack in assists prevention (26.3 per game), and over the last 15 games of the regular season, they actually surrendered the third most per contest to point guards (9.8). San Antonio conceded 28 dimes overall to Portland in Game 1, so a slightly better offensive effort by Holiday and even an average night as a distributor could certainly get him to at least 21 points + assists.
Original Line Publish: 20.5
Jabari Smith (HOU) – Over Points + Rebounds
Smith is the third player we’re recommending from a team that dropped its series opener. Despite the Rockets surprisingly dropping a nine-point decision to the short-handed Lakers, Smith did turn in a productive 16-point, 12-rebound double-double, although it took him 43 minutes to get there. The absence of Kevin Durant due to a knee injury certainly played a part in some increased opportunities, and Durant is notably labeled as a game-time decision for Tuesday’s Game 2.
Smith is now averaging 26.0 points + rebounds in four games against the Lakers since the start of the regular season, so Sunday’s success wasn’t an outlier by any stretch. Durant was available for the first three contests against Los Angeles, games where Smith finished with 23, 30 and 23 points + rebounds, although Alperen Sengun did sit out one of the contests. In any scenario, Smith is a very good candidate to get to at least 22 points + rebounds, and another Durant absence will naturally only boost his chances considering Smith is averaging 24.7 points + rebounds per 36 minutes with Durant off the floor since the start of the regular season.
