Tyrese Maxey (PHI) – Over Points

What happened to Maxey and the 76ers as a whole in Monday’s Game 1 isn’t as alarming as might have appeared at first glance. It’s a phenomena that’s been seen plenty over the years in the postseason, namely, a team that just completed an emotional upset in a seven-game series look flat and listless to start the next round while on the road and with a rest disadvantage. Another day of rest between Games 1 and 2 — not to mention the motivation to even the series — usually results in a much different Game 2 performance.

That’s what we’re banking on with Maxey and this prop in Game 2 as the Sixers look to steal a game on the road — something they proved highly proficient at doing during the first round. Maxey averaged 26.3 points per game on the road over four contests at TD Garden in the first round, shooting 47.6% in that sample. He went 5-2 overall to the 23.5 number in the opening round, and he went 3-1 to the number against the Knicks in the regular season. That included 30- and 36-point tallies in the two games at Madison Square Garden, a span in which he shot 54.3%, including 57.1% from downtown.

Original Line Publish: 23.5

OG Anunoby (NYK) – Over Points + Rebounds

Anunoby put together an excellent first-round series against the Hawks where he flashed as much game-to-game reliability as any Knick, and he began the second round in much the same fashion. The talented forward played a modest-by-postseason-standards 30 minutes in Game 1 against the 76ers and provided 18 points, three rebounds, one assist and one block while continuing to display an elite level of efficiency. Anunoby drained seven of his eight shots, pushing his postseason shooting percentage to 63.8%, including 59.4% from three-point range.

As just discussed in Maxey’s entry above, a much more competitive Game 2 is likely. That would mean more minutes and likely shot attempts for Anunoby, who averaged 27.5 points + rebounds across 36.5 minutes in his last two regular-season games against the 76ers, both competitive matchups. Anunoby is averaging 28.9 points + rebounds since the start of the postseason and this PR line has actually come down from the latter stages of the first round and Game 1, making it one to jump in Wednesday.

Original Line Publish: 22.5

Julian Champagnie (SAO) – Over Points + Rebounds

Champagnie was one of the bright spots for the Spurs in their surprising Game 1 home loss, collecting 24 points + rebounds over 32 minutes while shooting 7-for-12, including 3-for-7 from behind the arc. That followed a strong finish to the first-round series against the Trail Blazers, when he provided 26 points + rebounds over 30 minutes. Champagnie is averaging 16.6 points + rebounds across 29.0 minutes per contest over six postseason games thus far, shooting 58.5%, including 57.1% from distance.

The veteran forward’s line is very modest considering his recent body of work, and it’s also worth noting Champagnie generated a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double in one of three regular-season games against the Timberwolves. Minnesota has also surrendered elevated 47.9% shooting to power forwards since the start of the campaign, and zooming back out over 20 games overall dating back to March 17, Champagnie is 14-6 to this prop.

Original Line Publish: 13.5
