NFL Conference Championship Round Weather Report & Betting Impact: Chance Of Rain In Seattle for Rams-Seahawks?
The Championship Round features the No. 1 seed Denver Broncos hosting the No. 2 New England Patriots in the AFC, while we get an NFC West divisional battle between the No. 5 Los Angeles Rams and the No. 1 Seattle Seahawks in the NFC.
When analyzing NFL postseason matchups, we often focus on recent form, postseason experience, and other factors. While each of these is important, we also need to take weather conditions into consideration. Wind, rain, and cold temperatures can influence game flow and betting outcomes.
With that in mind, let’s provide a breakdown of the weather forecast for every NFL Championship Round game, taking a closer look at whether or not conditions can impact spreads, totals, and betting strategy.

How Weather Impacts NFL Betting During the Playoffs
This article is best used as a complementary piece within your overall betting process. Weather should not be the focal point of your handicap, but it should not be ignored either. Think of it as another data point that helps sharpen your edge.
For each matchup, I will list the forecast along with opening and current point spreads and totals to see whether the market has reacted to weather concerns. Wind is the biggest factor to watch, as it can disrupt downfield passing and kicking. On top of that, rain or snow often pushes teams toward more run-heavy game scripts.
Now, let’s break down each Championship Round matchup.
New England Patriots at Denver Broncos Weather Report and Betting Outlook
- 44-degree temperatures
- 4 percent chance of rain
- 6 MPH winds
We’ve got cold temperatures in the forecast in Denver, but there aren’t any concerns over wind or rain, so the weather won’t have much of an impact on this game.
The Patriots opened as 5.5-point favorites, but that’s because Bo Nix suffered a season-ending injury, forcing backup Jarrett Stidham into action this week. The total came in at 41 but has moved up to 42.5, highlighting market confidence in Stidham as a backup who is fully comfortable in Sean Payton’s system, having been in this scheme for three years.
However, with how good the Patriots’ defense has looked lately, especially after shutting down Justin Herbert and C.J. Stroud, it’s hard to see a lot of points in this one.
Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks Weather Report and Betting Outlook
- 45-degree temperatures
- 39 percent chance of rain
- 4 MPH winds
Unlike Patriots-Broncos, we have some slight weather concerns in Rams-Seahawks, with a chance of rain in this one. Considering that the Seahawks have one of the best defenses in the NFL, rainy weather would help them out against this high-powered Rams offense.
The spread opened as Seahawks -2.5 and has remained there so far throughout the week. The total came in at 47 and has also stayed at that number. If you want to get ahead of weather concerns, it makes sense to ride with the under right now. This is especially true because Sam Darnold has struggled against Chris Shula’s defense in the last two seasons. Think back to last year’s playoff game against the Rams while with the Vikings.
Ignore that wild Thursday nighter these teams played earlier in the year. That was one of those crazy shootouts on a short week. This one feels like it will be more low-scoring due to rainy weather and Darnold vs this defense.
