Saturday’s Anytime Goal Scorer Picks
- Sebastian Aho
- Logan Stankoven
- Porter Martone
- Owen Tippett
Sebastian Aho Anytime Goal Scorer
Arguably no one has more momentum on their side than Sebastian Aho who is fresh off of a two goal performance in game four against Ottawa. Aho’s performance in his latest outing mirrored what he was able to do throughout the regular season, finishing his 2025-26 campaign averaging 0.34 Expected Goals and 2.47 Shots on Goal per game.
Heading into Saturday night’s contest against the Philadelphia Flyers, expect Aho to continue to light the lamp as he faces off against a back line who has quietly fallen down the board in Expected Goals Against in All Situations. Even with Dan Vladar playing at a very high level, the Hurricanes versatility will force the Flyers goalie to scramble between the pipes, opening up larger gaps beside him.
Logan Stankoven Anytime Goal Scorer
While Aho and Seth Jarvis hog the spotlight, Logan Stankoven has quietly been very efficient, averaging 0.29 Expected Goals per game. Their combined production has helped turn the Hurricanes front line into one of the most dominant units in the league, contributing to an offense who ranks second in Expected Goals For in All Situations and in 5-on-5 Play.
With negative regression looming large over the Flyers defense, expect Stankoven to thrive by taking advantage of their gaps in coverage across the middle and generate a higher volume of Shots on Goal in front of their crease. Especially with Aho and Jarvis pulling defensive attention away from him, widening the width of Stankoven’s shooting lanes which will improve the quality of his Shots on Goal.
Porter Martone Anytime Goal Scorer
In his brief stint on the ice, Porter Martone has been able to inject some life into the Flyers offense, averaging 0.54 Expected Goals and 3.56 Shots on Goal per game. Unfortunately for Martone, his production has not been nearly enough to turn the Flyers front line into a competitive unit, ranking below league average in Expected Goals For in All Situations.
While a matchup against Carolina seems daunting on paper, Martone’s aggression will force the Hurricanes back line to scramble, freeing up more space in front of the net which will increase his chances of converting his shot attempts into Shots on Goal. With Martone comfortably leading the field in Expected Goals, place a separate smaller wager on the Flyers forward to score the first goal as well.
Owen Tippett Anytime Goal Scorer
Since the start of the regular season, Owen Tippett has been a steady source of offense for the Flyers front line, averaging 0.34 Expected Goals per game. Even when Martone was on the sideline for a majority of the season, Tippett was still able to play at a high level while receiving minimal support from his linemates, sparking the Flyers late run to the playoffs.
Now alongside Martone, expect Tippett to continue to capitalize on the extra space he receives from his linemates gravity, making it easier for the Flyers forward to pressure the net for the full duration of the contest. Especially if Martone is able to pull Frederik Andersen out of the crease with his assault at the net, creating higher quality rebound opportunities for Tippett to exploit on the opposite side.
