Tuesday’s Anytime Goal Scorer Picks
- Cale Makar
- Brock Nelson
- Martin Necas
- Kirill Kaprizov
Cale Makar Anytime Goal Scorer
After a slow start to the playoffs, Cale Makar has been able to get into a groove, generating five Points in his last three games in the form of four Goals and one Assist. A stretch of play that has mirrored what Makar has been able to do throughout the regular season, averaging 0.25 Expected Goals and 2.65 Shots on Goal per game.
In an exciting game two against the Minnesota Wild, expect Makar to stuff the stat sheet by exploiting a back line who continues to fall down the board in Expected Goals Against in All SItuations. Especially with his front line stretching out the Wild’s coverage with their versatility, widening the width of his shooting lanes from the blue line, increasing his chances of converting his shot attempts into Shots on Goal.
Brock Nelson Anytime Goal Scorer
In his first full year with the Avs, Brock Nelson has been able to carve out a role as one of the focal points of their offense, averaging nearly 0.40 Expected Goals per game. With Nelson’s contributions, the Avs front line have been the most dominant unit in the league, ranking first overall in Expected Goals For in All Situations and in 5-on-5 Play.
Heading into Tuesday night, Nelson will be able to build on his momentum by taking advantage of the extra space in front of the net his linemates create with their gravity, improving the quality of his Shots on Goal in front of the crease. To help increase your risk on Nelson, escalator bet his Anytime Goal Scorer prop by placing smaller wagers on his alternate totals.
Martin Necas Anytime Goal Scorer
Like Nelson, Martin Necas has also been able to sustain his high level of play since joining the Avs, averaging 0.34 Expected Goals per game. While he has been unable to find the back of the net in the playoffs, Necas has still played a major role in their hot start, averaging one Assist per game.
Fortunately for Necas, he will have a great opportunity to score in game two by attacking a back line who is dealing with some harsh regression as previously mentioned. Especially with Jesper Wallstedt struggling to hold his ground while dealing with the Avs relentless pressure, averaging nearly three Goals Against per game throughout the playoffs.
Kirill Kaprizov Anytime Goal Scorer
Since the start of the regular season, Kirill Kaprizov has been able to thrive, averaging 0.49 Expected Goals and 3.45 Shots on Goal per game. With the Wild offense running through Kaprizov, their front line has been one of the more efficient units in the league, ranking in the top half of the board in Expected Goals For in All Situations.
With Matt Boldy pulling defensive attention away from him, Kaprizov will be able to continue to weave the puck through the Avs suffocating coverage, resulting in a high amount of Shots on Goal being generated in front of their net. Even with Scott Wedgewood playing at a very high level, Kaprizov’s aggression will force the Avs goalie to constantly scramble between the pipes, opening up larger gaps beside him.
