The 2026 NBA Play-In Tournament continues with a battle between the Portland Trail Blazers and Phoenix Suns. The winner advances to face the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the playoffs, while the loser gets another chance to qualify.

Phoenix has won two of three matchups this season, but Portland won the most recent game by 15 points.

Trail Blazers vs. Suns Betting Analysis

Portland hangs its hat on defense. The team ranks third in defensive rating since the All-Star break and features elite defenders at every level. Forcing turnovers is the Blazers’ specialty, as only Toronto has forced a higher turnover rate since the break.

Can Portland score enough points, though? It sits bottom ten in offensive rating and three-point percentage. Shaedon Sharpe could be the difference between making the first round and a play-in tournament exit. He missed 28 games due to injury but returned during Portland’s final two regular season games. Shape is capable of creating his own shot and exploding for 30 points, so his health and production are Portland’s biggest X Factor.

Phoenix has been solid on both sides of the court throughout the season. Mark Williams anchors the defense, and the Suns also force plenty of turnovers. Meanwhile, the offense is built on Devin Booker and three-point shots.

The Suns’ ceiling depends on Jalen Green. He averaged 17.8 points per game but shot just 42.2% from the field and 31.3% from beyond the arc. Green is highly inconsistent, yet the former second overall pick truly impresses when his shot falls. A strong run from Green could let Phoenix make the playoffs and give San Antonio or Oklahoma City a good fight.

Finally, the best bet in this matchup is backing Toumani Camara to score at least 14 points. He has attempted the fifth-most corner triples this season, and Phoenix’s defense has allowed the sixth-highest corner attempt rate (12.5%) since the break per NBA.com.

Camara has logged at least 14 points in 41 of 82 games this season (50%). He only scored 6, 12, and 13 points across three matchups against Phoenix this season, but Camara shot 38.7% from the field and 29.2% from deep. It’s unlikely he shoots this poorly again.
