Portland Trail Blazers vs. San Antonio Spurs Game 2 Preview, Picks & Odds for Tuesday, April 21, 2026

Game 2 between the Portland Trail Blazers (0-1) and San Antonio Spurs (1-0) is scheduled for 8 p.m. Eastern on NBC. The Spurs won the series opener by 13 points, and Victor Wembanyama scored 35 points in his playoff debut.

Trail Blazers vs. Spurs Betting Analysis

Deni Avdija produced 30 points on 12-of-21 shooting from the field and also contributed 10 rebounds, five assists, two stocks and only two turnovers. He bypassed San Antonio’s perimeter defense all game and was excellent inside the paint despite Wembanyama’s presence.

And yet, Portland limped into 98 total points despite Avdija’s masterclass. The team shot 26.3% from beyond the arc and lost both the free throw and offensive rebound battles. The Blazers cannot keep this series close if they continue to score 94.1 points per 100 possessions with Avdija off the court. Shaedon Sharpe and Jerami Grant have to be more productive off the bench in the future.

On the bright side, Portland should be ecstatic that it only lost the 32 minutes that Wembanyama played by four points. If the Blazers can do more damage during the non-Wembanyama minutes, it’s a series.

Stephon Castle’s pull-up shooting is an X Factor throughout the series and playoffs. Portland often had Donovan Clingan sag off of Castle in order to protect the paint and assigned a wing like Toumani Camara to guard Wembanyama.

The best bet for Game 2 is taking Portland to score a maximum of 104 points. The Blazers have been one of the worst three-point shooting teams in the NBA this season, and it’s extremely difficult to score inside the paint against Wembanyama and company. San Antonio also protects the defensive glass and does not commit shooting fouls at a high rate, so Portland cannot expect to generate points on the margins.

Overall, the Blazers managed 98 points in Game 1 despite a phenomenal game from Avdija. It’s a terrible matchup for an offense that already struggles.
