Thursday’s Best World Cup Player Props

  • Johan Vasquez (Mexico) – Over 0.5 Shots on Target
  • Ronwen Williams (South Africa) – Over 3.5 Saves
  • Kang-in Lee (South Korea) – Over 0.5 Goals + Assist (+230)

Johan Vasquez (Mexico) – Over 0.5 Shots on Target

Mexico’s Johan Vasquez arrives at his second World Cup as one of El Tri’s most important players. The defender has scored in his last three appearances for club and country and has shown a consistent ability to get into goal-scoring positions, primarily during set pieces.

Vasquez has registered 19 shots for Mexico over the past two years, with six on target across limited appearances. Despite playing center back, Vasquez should find plenty of opportunities to get forward against South Africa, a side that figures to cede long spells of possession to Mexico. His current form makes 1+ Shots on Target at plus money an attractive option for one of Mexico’s most dynamic players.

Ronwen Williams (South Africa) – Over 3.5 Saves

Ronwen Williams is in for a busy opening match against a Mexico side that enters the tournament in strong form. Williams faces a squad that is unbeaten in its last eight matches and has scored in all but one of them.

Mexico has averaged over 14 shots per game, with more than five on target, across its last four matches heading into the tournament. Williams has saved around 67% of shots faced for South Africa over the past two years and can expect to be tested repeatedly by a relentless Mexico attack that scored five goals in its last pre-tournament match.

Kang-in Lee (South Korea) – Over 0.5 Goals + Assist (+230

Kang-in Lee has been one of South Korea’s premier attacking options since debuting for the national team in 2021. The 25-year-old has 20 goal contributions in 46 appearances for South Korea, including leading the team during AFC World Cup qualifiers.

The PSG star is South Korea’s best playmaker but is equally capable of threatening on goal himself. Lee and South Korea should have plenty of chances against a Czechia side that has failed to keep a clean sheet in any of its four pre-tournament matches.

Not in a Legal Sports Betting State? Consider Prediction Markets

If sports betting isn’t legal in your state, prediction markets may offer an alternative way to participate in sports-related events. Unlike traditional sportsbooks, prediction markets allow users to buy and sell contracts based on the outcome of real-world events, with prices fluctuating based on market sentiment.

Several platforms have expanded their sports offerings in recent years, including Kalshi, Polymarket, and Fanatics Markets. These sites allow users to trade contracts on outcomes ranging from championship winners and award races to individual game results, depending on the platform and available markets.

Prediction markets operate under different regulatory frameworks than traditional sportsbooks, and availability can vary by state and platform. Before signing up, be sure to check each site’s eligibility requirements and terms of service to confirm whether you can participate where you live.
