Monday’s Best 2026 World Cup Goal Scoring Picks
- Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal
- Lamine Yamal, Spain
- Folarin Balogun, USA
- Leandro Trossard, Belgium
Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal
We’re getting a better price than usual on Cristiano Ronaldo to score a goal for Portugal. That’s because Spain has been terrific throughout the tournament, as they’ve yet to concede a goal. Their dominance in possession makes it difficult for the opposition. After all, it’s hard to score when you don’t have the ball.
But Portugal is one of Spain’s biggest rivals, and they always seem to play La Roja tough. I wouldn’t count out Portugal from pulling off the upset in this match.
With that in mind, if I’m right about that, there’s a good chance Portugal scores at least one goal. I’ll go with Ronaldo, especially since he takes penalty kicks and most close-range free kicks for the team.
Lamine Yamal, Spain
Lamine Yamal has only one goal in this tournament so far, but he had a ton of chances in Spain’s 3-0 blowout win over Austria. He could have easily scored at least one goal in that match.
In a star-studded rivalry game against Portugal, look for the best in the world to come through with a big performance. I’m already on Ronaldo, so we’ll ride with Yamal as well.
Getting each of these players at longer than +150 odds at the time of this article feels like nice value.
Folarin Balogun, USA
FIFA shockingly allowed Folarin Balogun to play in this Round of 16 match against Belgium despite receiving a red card in the win over Bosnia-Herzegovina.
This is good news for the USMNT, as Balogun has been dangerous for them up front. He’s already scored three goals so far in this tournament. This match against Belgium could turn into a high-scoring affair, especially since the 2.5 total is currently juiced to the Over.
We’ll look for Balogun to make a major impact with the news that he’ll be able to play.
Leandro Trossard, Belgium
Leandro Trossard isn’t a prolific goal scorer, scoring six goals for Arsenal in the Premier League this season. However, I like the value on him at nearly +300 odds in this match.
There’s a good chance that both Belgium and USA score here, so I’ll take my chances that Trossard is the one to do so.
Romelu Lukaku’s odds are a bit too inflated. Trossard feels like the better value in this likely high-scoring match.
