Top Prediction Market Trades: Best World Cup Trades for Monday, June 22

Argentina to Win vs. Austria (0.64¢ at Kalshi)

Argentina is coming off an impressive 3-0 win against Algeria, who are usually organized defensively and considered one of the stronger African squads.

The defending World Cup champions proved that they were being a bit overlooked coming into the tournament. Everyone was talking about France and Spain, but neglecting Lionel Messi and company a bit.

While Austria is a solid mid-tier team that pushes forward with a high press, I think they’re overmatched vs. Argentina. After what I saw them to do Algeria, I’m much higher on La Albiceleste than I was coming into the tournament.

France/Iraq Both Teams to Score: No (0.68¢ at Kalshi)

France had a slow start to their 3-1 win over Senegal, but really showed why they’re considered the tournament favorites with a dominant second half. Meanwhile, Iraq was overmatched in a 4-1 loss to Norway.

Les Bleus should be able to completely control this match. But we’ve seen them operate on cruise control at times. Think about that 0-0 first half vs. Senegal. I think we’re going to see something similar vs. Iraq, where they sleepwalk to a 2-0 victory.

I feel more confident in France keeping a clean sheet than going with them to win by 3+ goals, so we’ll lay the juice on Both Teams to Score: No here. This feels like a 2-0 or 3-0 win for France.

Norway/Senegal Both Teams to Score: Yes (0.56¢ at Kalshi)

Norway was as good as advertised after a dominant, undefeated qualifying campaign, knocking off Iraq 4-1. Senegal kept it close with France in the first half before the dam burst in the second half.

I lean Norway to win this game, but I’m more confident that it’ll be a high-scoring and closely-contested match. I like both teams to score here because with Norway’s attacking talent, Senegal will be forced into a position where they’ll have to push for goals.

If Senegal loses this match, they’ll be in a tough spot, where they’ll need to beat Iraq and hope that goal differential puts them through as a third-place team. That’s why I’m betting that we see a high-scoring game here. It’s a case of an impressive attacking team against a side that is desperate for three points.

Jordan/Algeria Both Teams to Score: Yes (0.46¢ at Kalshi)

Jordan had a tough 3-1 loss to Austria in their opener, but one thing I liked about this team was that they were always pushing forward. They didn’t just sit back and defend.

Algeria is the better team on paper, but with both teams desperate for three points, that should create a game environment where each team plays more direct, pushing forward for goals.

I’m not confident in paying an expensive price on Algeria to win, so taking Both Teams to Score looks like a nice value at 46 cents.

Not in a Legal Sports Betting State? Consider Prediction Markets

If sports betting isn’t legal where you live, prediction markets offer another way to participate in sports events. Instead of placing bets against a sportsbook at predetermined odds, participants buy and sell event-based contracts whose prices fluctuate according to market demand and the implied probability of each outcome. Many platforms also allow traders to exit a position before the event concludes, giving them the flexibility to secure profits or reduce potential losses.

The selection of available markets has grown considerably in recent years. Platforms including Kalshi, Polymarket, and Fanatics now feature contracts covering sporting events such as individual games, league champions, and player honors, alongside markets tied to elections, economic indicators, and other notable real-world events.

Unlike traditional sportsbooks, prediction markets operate under different regulatory frameworks and use a marketplace model where users trade with one another rather than against a bookmaker. Availability varies by platform and jurisdiction, so not every service can be accessed from every location. Before signing up or trading, check the platform’s eligibility requirements and terms of service to confirm that it is authorized for use where you reside.
