World Cup Top Prediction Market Trades for Games on Wednesday, June 17, 2026

It’s time for Day 7 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. We’ve got four games on tap for Wednesday, June 17th. Portugal faces Congo DR at 1 p.m. ET, followed by England vs. Croatia at 4 p.m. ET, Ghana vs. Panama at 7 p.m. ET, and Uzbekistan vs. Colombia at 10 p.m. ET.

We’re going to dive into each matchup, providing my favorite buys for World Cup action.

With that in mind, let’s dive into our top prediction market trades for Wednesday, June 17.

Top Prediction Market Trades: Best World Cup Trades for Wednesday, June 17

Portugal/Congo DR Over 2.5 Goals: No (0.46¢ at Kalshi)

Portugal is my pick to win the World Cup. Boasting a dominant midfield headlined by Vitinha, Bruno Fernandes, and many more, this team has the ability to score a ton of goals.

But in their first game of the tournament, facing an unfamiliar opponent, I could see a disappointing result. Congo DR is going to play a tight and compact game where they’re organized defensively, doing whatever it takes to survive this match.

We just saw Spain tie 0-0 against Cape Verde. I can see something similar here, with Portugal winning 1-0 or 2-0. Congo DR conceded only six goals in 10 games during CAF qualifying.

England/Croatia Over 2.5 Goals: No (0.57¢ at Kalshi)

England and Croatia are the two clear-cut top teams in Group L, so we could see a conservative approach from both sides as they get their feet wet in the tournament.

Under Thomas Tuchel, the Three Lions were dominant defensively in qualifying, conceding zero goals in eight games. Croatia was also extremely stout defensively, allowing only four goals in eight matches.

This feels like a 0-0 or 1-0 result for England. Expect a tight game with limited scoring chances.

Ghana/Panama Over 2.5 Goals: No (0.59¢ at Kalshi)

I’m going with yet another Under in Ghana vs. Panama. Ghana was great on defense during CAF qualifying, conceding only six goals in 10 games. Similarly, Panama allowed only four goals in six games in CONCACAF qualifying.

Ghana is the favorite here, but I think Panama is a bit undervalued. I’m betting that they can keep it closer than expected, perhaps even getting a result in this match.

I see a tight, defensive game that ends either 1-0 Ghana or as a 1-1 draw.

Uzbekistan/Colombia Over 2.5 Goals: No (0.50¢ at Kalshi)

We’re finishing off the Wednesday slate with our fourth straight Under, this time between Colombia and Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan’s manager is the legendary Italian defender Fabio Cannavaro. Who better to know what’s at stake against Colombia than such a great center back? Expect Uzbekistan to park the bus to try to grind out a result.

What I also like about this under is that this game is in Mexico City, which is at an extremely high altitude. This can cause players to get more fatigued, making it better conditions for a low-scoring game. I see a 1-0 or 2-0 win for Colombia here.

Not in a Legal Sports Betting State? Consider Prediction Markets

If online sportsbooks aren’t permitted in your state, prediction markets can provide an alternative way to engage with sports outcomes. Rather than placing standard wagers, these platforms let users trade event-based contracts tied to real-world results, with contract prices shifting according to public demand and market expectations. Many markets also give participants the flexibility to close positions before the final outcome, which can allow them to lock in gains or limit risk ahead of settlement.

In the past few years, platforms such as Kalshi, Polymarket, and Fanatics have expanded their markets. Depending on the platform, users may be able to trade contracts involving championship outcomes, player awards, election props, and more.

These markets are different from conventional sportsbooks, where access varies by platform and jurisdiction. Before creating an account, review the platform’s eligibility guidelines and terms carefully to make sure participation is allowed in your area.
