2026 Genesis Scottish Open: Top DraftKings Showdown Plays & Live Bets Ahead of Round 3

The 2026 Genesis Scottish Open has reached the halfway point, with the Renaissance Club proving to still be a moderate test for the game’s best in relatively calm conditions. An eclecltic group of three players lead the way at 9-under-par through the opening round: Rory McIlroy, Tom Kim, and Jordan Smith

We have a log-jammed leaderboard with 17 players within three strokes of the lead, highlighted by Matt Fitzpatrick, Min Woo Lee, Chris Gotterup, Robert MacIntyre, Wyndham Clark, and Nicolai Hojgaard as viable challengers.

Looking ahead, we have new data at our disposal to adjust our approach in DFS formats before Round 2 gets underway on Saturday. Conditions were largely calm on Friday, but there will be a slight uptick in wind on Saturday. Ahead, we’ll look to identify the players who have shown they are most due for a Round 3 breakout.

Take a look at some of the best pillar players for the 2026 Genesis Scottish Open DFS contests and live betting opportunities.

DraftKings Showdown Golf Strategy

DraftKings Golf Showdown Golf is a one-round Daily Fantasy format in which players aim to construct the best-scoring one-round lineup while staying within the allotted salary cap. To identify value in Golf Showdown, it’s typically best to focus on buy-low opportunities on players who’ve shown uncharacteristically poor putting in the prior round. There is also an opportunity to find leverage by identifying favorable weather splits and players who are more likely to card birdies-or-better.

Round 3 Genesis Scottish Open Showdown Pillar Plays

No two years seem to be the same at the Genesis Scottish Open, as the Renaissance Club’s setting right on the coastline of Edinburgh, Scotland makes this one of the most weather-impacted tournaments on the PGA Tour. When the weather is calm, this is a very gettable golf course where pure bombers have found an edge taking aggressive lines to carry select fairway bunkers. When the wind is blowing, however, it is a venue that demands touch and creativity around the greens to avoid bogeys. Mother Nature seems to be offering up the former this week, which means in-form bombers like Rory McIlroy, Min Woo Lee, Chris Gotterup Jordan Smith, and Michael Thorbjornsen each stand a great chance to uphold their place inside the top-10 for the rest of this week.

Identifying value players who check each of these boxes can provide valuable bonus points in the DraftKings Showdown format. The three players below will be foundational plays in my Round 3 Showdown lineups for these reasons.

Matt Fitzpatrick ($10,400)

It’s been a near-perfect season for Fitzpatrick, who has already picked up three PGA Tour wins and another two top-5 finishes within his last three starts. The Englishman has enjoyed the friendlier confines with this links leg of the PGA Tour season too. In Fitzpatrick’s most recent event overseas before this week, he won the DP World World Tour Championship back in November, so there is no question whether his game can translate outside of the United States.

Fitzpatrick finished in the top 6 in three of his last five appearances at this event, including a playoff loss back in 2021. He looks well on his way to another high finish, currently T4 at the halfway point at 8 under par. He appears to be in complete control of his gam, ranking 1st in the field in SG: APP and SG: Ball Striking, and top-5 in SG: T2G.

Nicolai Hojgaard ($8,500)

Nicolai Hojgaard was a popular pick coming into this week, and for good reason. The Dane has finishes of T4 and T6 at this event over his last three appearances, and looked sharp at last year’s Open Championship at Royal Portrush, where he finished T14. His game is an excellent fit for this style of modern links golf course, as he is one of the most gifted total drivers in this field. Through the first two rounds, Hojgaard leads the field in Driving Distance and SG: T2G, propelling him to T13 on the leaderboard.

Hojgaard’s success thus far has come despite a very cold putter, as he ranked bottom-5 in SG: Putting after his first round, and remains outside the top-100 in putting for the tournament. Having gained on the greens in five of his last six starts leading into this week, it’s fair to expect a better showing from him over the weekend.

Patrick Reed ($7,700)

There was reason to feel skeptical about Reed’s form entering this week, as his torrid start to the season had seemed to be drying up; in his last three starts, he posted finishes of MC, T45, and MC. Links golf is a different beast, however, and it seems to be exactly the change of pace he needed. Reed is T18 for the tournament at the halfway point and has looked like his vintage self on and around the greens.

Ideally, we would want to see the winds pick up more over the weekend for Reed to truly separate from this field with his world-class touch around the greens. But while these haven’t been the nasty winds we’re accustomed to seeing in Scotland, navigating the conditions will still play an important role in deciding this tournament. Reed is a great value at this price, and has a great opportunity to push inside the top 10 on moving day.

Live Bets To Consider Entering Round 3

Winning Score: Under 264.5

Best Available odds: -152

On this par-70 layout, the odds currently imply a winning score of 15.5 under par. At the halfway point, there are five players on pace to shoot -16 or better. Looking historically at this event, the winning score has surpassed -16 in four of the last eight contests at The Renaissance Club, including most recently in 2024 when Robert MacIntyre prevailed at -18.

When it comes to the Renaissance Club, the weather dictates scoring, as without high winds intervening, it has proven to be fairly defenseless against in-form bombers like Rory McIlroy. The weekend forecast calls for much of the same calm conditions, and with plenty of star power at the top of the board, my expectation is to see these low scores continue.

Top-20 Finisher: Ryan Fox

Best Available odds: +156

Ryan Fox was my favorite longshot on the board this week, and he’s looked the part of a contender thus far, currently T25 at 4 under par. The Kiwi rebounded nicely from a slow start on Thursday, posting an impressive second-round 65. His great, well-rounded form has continued on this week, as he ranks top-40 in SG: OTT, SG: APP. SG: T2G, SG: Ball Striking, and Driving Distance. That lays a great foundation for scoring opportunities to continue over the weekend.

Fox is no stranger around the Renaissance Club either, continuing his streak to five consecutive made cuts at this event, highlighted by a T12 finish here in 2023. All signs seem to be trending up for Fox on a course that suits his game perfectly.

Best of luck with your Genesis Scottish Open DFS lineups and bets!
