2026 World Cup Best Player Prop Picks, Odds, Predictions for Sunday, July 5, 2026
Day two of the 2026 World Cup Round of 16 features an exciting two-game slate with Brazil and England both favored in their respective matchups. Brazil looks to reach the quarterfinals for the third consecutive World Cup when they head to MetLife Stadium to take on Norway at 4 p.m. ET. Later in the evening, England travels to Mexico City to face co-hosts Mexico in one of the most anticipated matches of the knockout stage.
Brazil and Norway meet in East Rutherford for their first World Cup encounter since 1998. Both sides won their Round of 32 matches 2-1 and now face off in what is expected to be a wet afternoon. Brazil arrives unbeaten after four matches, having conceded just two goals. Norway’s only defeat came on matchday three of the group stage, but they have won every other game, scoring 10 goals across four appearances. Brazil enters as slight favorites to advance to the quarterfinals, where they would face the winner of the evening game.
England then heads to the famous Estadio Azteca for a heavyweight clash between two of the tournament’s best sides. FIFA has confirmed the 8 p.m. ET kickoff will go ahead despite the possibility of inclement weather in the area. The Three Lions face the World Cup co-hosts on their home turf, with both sides looking to reach the quarterfinals. Mexico is the only team to have won every match without conceding a single goal. They now face an England side that is also unbeaten, having scored eight goals across four appearances.

Sunday’s Best 2026 World Cup Player Props
- Erling Haaland (Norway) – Over 2.5 Shots (-115)
- Alisson (Brazil) – Over 2.5 Saves (-110)
- Raúl Rangel (Mexico) – Over 3.5 Saves (+175)
- Julián Quiñones (Mexico) – Over 0.5 Goals + Assists (+165)
Erling Haaland (Norway) – Over 2.5 Shots (-115)
Haaland has not disappointed in his first World Cup, scoring five goals across his first three appearances. The 25-year-old has already surpassed Norway’s previous all-time scoring record and continues to produce despite drawing most of the defensive attention. He now faces a Brazilian side that has yet to encounter an opponent with the attacking quality Norway has shown throughout this tournament.
Haaland leads Norway with a staggering 4.7 shots per game across his three appearances. The Manchester City superstar accounts for over 42% of Norway’s 11 shots per contest and will remain the focal point of the European side’s attack. Brazil has faced 10 shots per game across their four matches, dominating possession in nearly every outing.
Alisson (Brazil) – Over 2.5 Saves (-110)
As our previous prop suggests, Haaland and Norway will present a challenge Brazil has not yet faced on their run to the Round of 16. Alisson has been forced into three or more saves in two of his four appearances and is averaging 2.8 per game. The Premier League legend is saving 85% of shots faced at this tournament and now faces a Norway side that ranks in the top 15 in shots on target per game.
Nearly half of Norway’s 11 total shots per game have been on target at this World Cup. Opposing goalkeepers are averaging 2.25 saves per game against Norway, with two of the four keepers they have faced making at least three saves. If Alisson maintains his save rate and Norway reaches its average shots on target, three or more saves feel well within reach in this Round of 16 clash.
Raúl Rangel (Mexico) – Over 3.5 Saves (+175)
Rangel has been one of the standout goalkeepers at this World Cup, keeping a clean sheet in all four of his appearances. The 26-year-old has prevented the second-most goals of any keeper in the competition (1.66) while averaging 1.5 saves per game. The Guadalajara shot-stopper now faces his toughest test yet with England arriving at the Estadio Azteca.
Led by Ballon d’Or candidate Harry Kane, England fields some of the world’s top talent throughout its lineup. The Three Lions have scored two goals per game and taken nearly 19 shots per contest across their four matches. Rangel is in for a very busy evening with England averaging close to seven shots on target per game and opposing keepers averaging 4.75 saves against them.
Julián Quiñones (Mexico) – Over 0.5 Goals + Assists (+165)
Quiñones has been Mexico’s best attacker in his first World Cup since switching his international allegiance from Colombia to El Tri. The Saudi Pro League star arrived at the tournament off a 41-goal-contribution season for Al-Qadsiah and is leading his nation with four goal contributions across four appearances.
The 29-year-old has recorded at least one goal contribution in three of his first four World Cup matches, including a goal and an assist in the Round of 32 victory over Ecuador. He now looks to add to his impressive tournament tally against an England side that has conceded three goals at this year’s competition.
