2026 World Cup Best Player Prop Picks, Odds, Predictions for Tuesday, July 7, 2026
The final day of the Round of 16 features two South American giants looking to punch their tickets to the quarterfinals. Argentina and Colombia are both favored to advance, which could set up a rematch of the 2024 Copa América Final.
Argentina takes on Egypt at 12 p.m. ET at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The reigning World Cup champions are heavy favorites against an Egyptian side that has already matched their best-ever finish with a Round of 16 appearance. Lionel Messi has led the way for Argentina, sitting firmly in the Golden Boot race with seven goals across four matches.
The final Round of 16 match takes place in the afternoon at BC Place in Vancouver. Colombia looks to reach the World Cup quarterfinals for the first time since 2014 when they face a Swiss side that has won three straight after drawing their opener. Los Cafeteros are slight favorites in a matchup between two sides that have met just once before in the competition, back in 1994.

Tuesday’s Best 2026 World Cup Player Props
- Lionel Messi (Argentina) – Over 1.5 Goals + Assists (+205)
- Enzo Fernández (Argentina) – Over 1.5 Shots (+550)
- Luis Díaz (Colombia) – Over 0.5 Goals + Assists (+140)
Lionel Messi (Argentina) – Over 1.5 Goals + Assists (+205)
Messi continues to defy expectations in his sixth World Cup at 38 years old. Argentina’s all-time leading scorer has added seven goals to his tally and has been unlucky not to have at least one assist in the competition. The left-footed maestro leads his squad in virtually every attacking category across his four appearances.
He has recorded two or more goal contributions in two of those four matches. Messi leads Argentina with 3.99 xG and 1.47 xA, averaging six shots per game while setting up 2.5 shots for teammates. He has scored in every match so far, and it is hard to see that changing against an Egypt side that has conceded in every game.
Enzo Fernández (Argentina) – Over 1.5 Shots (+550)
While Messi has shouldered the bulk of Argentina’s attacking load, others have stepped up as defensive attention on the captain has increased. Fernández has operated in a very different role from the one he plays at Chelsea, where he is given freedom to roam and get into the box. Here, the 25-year-old has been deployed in a deeper midfield position, functioning as a traditional no. 8 and dictating the team’s rhythm.
The Round of 32 was the first time we saw Fernández genuinely look for his own shot in this competition. The 2022 Young Player of the Tournament registered four shots in Argentina’s 3-2 win over Cape Verde and has now had at least two in back-to-back matches. He currently ranks second on the team in shots per game with two, behind only Messi.
Luis Díaz (Colombia) – Over 0.5 Goals + Assists (+140)
There is little doubt that Luis Díaz is one of the best left-wingers in the world right now. The Colombian has brought the flair we have grown accustomed to seeing in Europe to his first World Cup. The 29-year-old has two goal contributions across four appearances but has had three goals disallowed for offside.
The Bayern Munich star has been the most penalized attacker for offside in the competition and would have significantly better numbers without those calls. Regardless, Díaz leads his squad with 1.54 xG and 0.85 xA and is Colombia’s most dangerous weapon against a Swiss side that has kept just one clean sheet in the tournament. The majority of Colombia’s best attacking moments run through Díaz in some way, and that is unlikely to change as the tournament progresses.
