Knicks vs. Spurs NBA Finals Game 2 Preview, Picks & Odds for Friday, June 5, 2026

Game 2 between the New York Knicks (1-0) and San Antonio Spurs (0-1) is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Eastern on ABC. The Knicks stole the series opener and now own home-court advantage. Can they secure a commanding 2-0 lead? Or will San Antonio stop the bleeding?

Knicks vs. Spurs NBA Finals Game 2 Betting Analysis

April 23 was the last time the Knicks lost a basketball game. They entered Game 1 with an 11-game winning streak and extended the run after taking the opening clash.

Jalen Brunson led the way with 30 points on 12-for-31 shooting from the field. Although it was not an efficient night for the star point guard, he made key baskets and relentlessly attacked the Spurs. The fact that he constantly put pressure on San Antonio’s defense allowed him to have a huge offensive impact despite shots not falling.

Josh Hart was everywhere on the court for New York. The veteran collected 15 rebounds, dished out six assists, and recorded five stocks. He provided a jolt of energy, and the Knicks won his 26 minutes by 22 points.

But Karl-Anthony Towns deserves the game ball. The All-Star contributed 18 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists, yet the box score does not do him justice. Towns pulled Victor Wembanyama away from the paint and also blew past him off the dribble, which lessened Wembanyama’s defensive impact. Meanwhile, Towns did an excellent job defensively and avoided picking up a fifth foul. He was a massive game-changer.

On the other side, Wembanyama struggled mightily to score and botched clutch possessions via turnovers or badly missed shots. It was an abysmal showing, but look for Wembanyama to bounce back in Game 2. He’s too good to not adjust.

The best bet for Game 2 is taking Dylan Harper to record at least 21 points plus rebounds plus assists. He suffered an adductor injury in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals and subsequently looked diminished over the next three games. However, Harper has been close to full strength seemingly over the past three games and hit this threshold in all of them. San Antonio needs to trust its rookie more because Harper is ready for the moment and contributing in all facets of the game. Plus, De’Aaron Fox is clearly diminished because of his ankle sprain.
