Opening Week 4 NFL Odds: Point Spreads, Totals, Moneylines, Including Steelers-Vikings, Eagles-Buccaneers, More

A significant portion of the NFL Week 3 slate has now unfolded, and bettors’ eyes begin to turn to the Week 4 NFL odds. Here are some key games and their initial betting lines following each team’s results. All times below are ET.

Opening Week 4 NFL Odds: Spreads, Moneylines, Totals

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Minnesota Vikings: Sunday, Sept. 28, 9:30 a.m.

The Steelers went into New England and got Aaron Rodgers his first career victory at Gillette Stadium in Week 3, pushing their record to 2-1 in the process. Pittsburgh’s defense finally looked like it got the memo that the season had started, recording five sacks, four fumble recoveries and an interception.

The Vikings didn’t have much of a sweat during a battle of backup QBs, as Carson Wentz leveraged his team’s dominating defensive performance to trample Jake Browning and the Bengals by a 48-10 score. Minnesota should be well-rested for its overseas trip as a result.

This neutral-field Ireland clash opens with Pittsburgh as a narrow favorite as Wentz lines up for a likely second straight start.

Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Sunday, Sept. 28, 1:00 p.m.

The Eagles capped off a miraculous comeback against the visiting Rams in Week 3 by blocking a would-be game-winning field goal, allowing them to escape with a win in a game they’d trailed by a 26-7 margin at one point. Jalen Hurts and the passing game were forced to be much more aggressive than in the first two weeks and responded accordingly.

The Buccaneers had a very similar finish to their tougher-than-expected Week 3 matchup, except they were almost on the wrong end of a blocked FG. Tampa Bay was able to drive back down to successfully get the final three points of the afternoon and escape the visiting Jets by a 29-27 score. However, Mike Evans exited the game with a hamstring injury in the fourth quarter, but if he’s forced to miss this showdown against the Super Bowl champions, Chris Godwin (ankle) may be ready to help make up for it in his projected season debut.

In an early line that could be subject to plenty of change, Philly is up to a three-point road favorite.

Indianapolis Colts at Los Angeles Rams: Sunday, Sept. 28, 4:05 p.m.

The carriage may eventually turn into a pumpkin, but for the time being, the Colts continue undefeated heading into this interconference showdown. Daniel Jones and teammates lambasted the host Titans by a 41-20 score in Week 3. Jonathan Taylor rattled off three more rushing TDs and another 100-yard performance while the Colts defense sacked Cam Ward four times and picked him off once.

The Rams were in position for a major road win in Philadelphia before squandering a 26-7 second-half lead. Los Angeles still looks like one of the top teams in the NFC, however, and its talented defense could particularly cause problems for Jones if it can bring consistent pressure. Los Angeles also did a standout job containing Saquon Barkley, meaning Taylor could find running room at a premium.

The Rams are somewhat surprisingly up to 5.5-point home favorites in the early line despite Week 3 outcomes.

Jacksonville Jaguars at San Francisco 49ers: Sunday, Sept. 28, 4:05 p.m.

The Jaguars moved to 2-1 with a ragged victory over the Texans on Sunday. However, saying that Trevor Lawrence looks comfortable in Liam Coen’s offense would be a misrepresentation, as he’s completed just over 55.0% of his passes over the first three games. The connection with Brian Thomas Jr. continues to be very muted as well, and this Week 4 matchup against an aggressive 49ers defense wouldn’t seem to bode well for a breakout performance.

San Francisco’s offense was somewhat stuck in neutral as well in a close home win over the Cardinals. However, the Niners did have some mitigating circumstances at play. Mac Jones once again filled in for Brock Purdy, while Jauan Jennings’ absence due to an ankle issue depleted the air attack even further. Demarcus Robinson will be ready for his season/team debut in this matchup after serving a three-game suspension, while Jennings also should have a good chance to return.

The Niners are unsurprisingly solid home favorites in the immediate aftermath of Week 3.

Green Bay Packers at Dallas Cowboys: Sunday, Sept. 28, 8:20 p.m.

The Packers got one of the biggest shocks of Week 3 with a 13-10 road loss in Cleveland. Green Bay ran into what may be just as good a defense as their own, and Jordan Love wasn’t able to overcome the challenge while operating without Jayden Reed, who went on injured reserve this week with collarbone and foot injuries.

The Cowboys could be just what the doctor ordered for a Green Bay rebound, however. Not only did Dallas’ defense look mostly helpless against Ben Johnson’s Caleb Williams-led scheme, but they also lost CeeDee Lamb to an ankle injury of unknown severity. Dallas couldn’t keep up with George Pickens operating as the No. 1 receiver, and while Dallas’ Javonte Williams-Miles Sanders backfield duo continued to look very efficient, they’ll have a major challenge in that regard against a standout Packers run D.

The Packers have opened as road favorites of just under a TD at some sportsbooks, and any confirmed absence on Lamb’s part later in the week would likely push the number past 7.

Baltimore Ravens at Kansas City Chiefs: Sunday, Sept. 28, 4:25 p.m.

The Ravens tangle with the Lions in a Week 3 interconference battle Monday night. Baltimore will look to build on the momentum of a big Week 2 win over the Browns while facing a Detroit team that put up 52 points against the Bears in their bounce-back effort from a Week 1 loss.

The Chiefs got their coveted first win, albeit in relatively uninspired fashion, on Sunday night with a 22-9 victory against the Giants. Xavier Worthy missed another game for KC but is expected back for this showdown. His presence should give quite the boost to the Chiefs’ air attack, especially considering Tyquan Thornton has been developing into a complementary deep threat in Worthy’s absence.

Ahead of their Monday night clash with Detroit, the Ravens are up to a 3-point road favorite in the early line.
