World Cup Best Player Prop Picks, Odds, Predictions for Wednesday, June 17, 2026

The last of the Groups to play their first 2026 World Cup fixtures, there’s some very tasty fixtures taking place in Group K and Group L. Portugal kicks things off on Wednesday, June 17th with their opener against DR Congo, kicking off at 1pm ET.  The following game of the day sees England take on Croatia in a huge game that could dictate how things shape up in Group L, a 4pm ET kick off for that one.

Ghana and Panama are the two remaining sides in Group L, they face each other at 7pm ET. The day’s World Cup action finishes with debutants Uzbekistan taking on Colombia in Group K at 10pm ET.

Another exciting day in store! Let’s take a look at the best player props for Wednesday. Make sure to check out our World Cup match trends page for daily odds, insights and betting data for each game.

Wednesday’s Best 2026 World Cup Player Props

Bruno Fernandes (Portugal) Over 0.5 Assist

While most eyes will be on Cristiano Ronaldo, it’s important not to forget the quality that Bruno Fernandes possesses. He heads into this one on the back of breaking the all-time Premier League record for most assists in a season. I expect Fernandes to be pulling the strings in the middle of the park and grabbing himself another assist for his growing collection.

Petar Musa (Croatia) Over 1.5 Shots on Goal (+295)

England are heavy favorites to start off their World Cup campaign with victory. I’m not so sure, though. Croatia are a well equipped side and will not be easy to beat. In fact, I’m edging towards either the draw or the Croatia win in a game that should see a couple of goals.

If Croatia are to score, they’ll be relying on striker Petar Musa. In 2026, Musa has an average of just over 4 shots on goal per 90 minutes, with just shy of 2 shots on target per match. Whatever the score might be, I can see this Croatian forward line causing England problems, with Musa likely to have the opportunity to test Jordan Pickford in the England goal reasonably often.

Abdukodir Khusanov (Uzbekistan) Over 2.5 Tackles (+140)

Making their World Cup debuts in 2026, Uzbekistan face a difficult challenge as they start their Group K campaign against Colombia. I expect Fabio Cannavaro’s side to be under the cosh somewhat. However, Manchester City youngster Abdukodir Khusanov is one of the most underrated central defenders in world soccer right now.

Last season for club side Manchester City, Khusanov had an average of just under 2 successful tackles per 90 minutes, with a 91% success rate. Colombia will cause many more problems than most sides did against City last season, meaning Khusanov will likely be in the thick of the action throughout. This is why I think the centre half starlet to make over 2.5 tackles in the game is worth considering.
