Darius Garland Over Alt. 27.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists, Jarrett Allen Over Alt. 20 Points + Rebounds, Josh Giddey Over Alt. 32.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists, Over Alt. Total 230.5 Points (+210 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
We have what’s projected to be a high-scoring and relatively competitive game between the Bulls and Cavaliers, and there are some dynamics that could change if Donovan Mitchell can’t play through his illness. The possibility Mitchell is sidelined factors into our first leg, with Garland set for increased usage if his backcourt mate is sidelined. Garland sports a massive, team-high 36.8% usage rate with both Mitchell and the sidelined Evan Mobley off the floor, and he’s averaging 35 points + rebounds + assists per 36 minutes in that scenario as well.
Meanwhile, Allen is already benefiting from Mobley’s absence, and if Mitchell also sits out, the big man will naturally be in even better position. Allen is averaging 37.5 points + rebounds per 36 minutes with both players off the floor, and 35.8 with just Mobley absent. In either case, he’s in good shape to eclipse this alternate total against a Bulls squad allowing 37.6 points + rebounds to centers in the last 15 games.
Giddey has been stuffing the stat sheet all season and averaging 38.6 points + rebounds + assists per contest. He’s essentially been as productive on the road as he’s been at home, and he’s coming off having posted a 23-point, 11-rebound, 11-assist triple double versus Cleveland in the first game of the back-to-back on Wednesday.
Finally, we’ll take advantage of the Alt. Total feature to bring down the conventional number for this game by a full 10 points while still pushing the price for our SGP to over +200. This hedges against a possible Mitchell absence, and it’s a number that feels safe after the first two games between these teams this season finished with 250 and 238 combined points.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander To Score 30+ Points, Jalen Williams Alt. Over 20 Points + Rebounds, Julius Randle Alt. Over 23.5 Points + Rebounds, Thunder Moneyline (+313 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
This four-leg SGP for Friday’s nightcap has what are four solid legs that should give it a solid chance of hitting. We start with the perpetually prolific Gilgeous-Alexander, who’s averaging 32.4 points per game, including on the road. SGA poured in 40 points against the T-Wolves in the one prior meeting between the teams this season, a night in which he went a blistering 12-for-19 from the floor. He’s hit or exceeded the 30-point mark in a very impressive 20 of 26 games overall, making this a high-probability bet.
Next we have Williams, who’s averaging 17.6 points and 4.9 rebounds over his first eight games, eclipsing the 20.5 points + rebound figure in six of those contests. Minnesota has been about middle of the pack in preventing opponent rebounds, but by using the Alt. feature to bring down Williams’ base figure of 24.5 points, we feel we’re on solid ground here.
The same holds true for Randle, who still may actually operate without Anthony Edwards (foot) on Friday. However, even if Edwards plays, which looks likely after he went through shootaround, Randle should still have a very good opportunity to get to at least 24 points + rebounds after hitting that mark in six straight games and in 11 of the last 13 overall. The Thunder naturally present a stiff challenge, but this is a number Randle has repeatedly proven he can surpass.
Finally, we’re simply banking on something that’s been almost automatic this season — a Thunder win. OKC has won 25 of 27 games, including 12 of 13 on the road, where they also have an NBA best +14.4-point scoring margin. The defending champs are favored by as much as 7.5 points as of late afternoon and check in as -295 moneyline favorites on FD, giving us some security here as well.
