Cleveland Browns vs. Atlanta Falcons Player Prop Picks

The Atlanta Falcons are hosting the Cleveland Browns in the early slate this Sunday, with the Falcons currently short underdogs at home. It should be an interesting game, and there are plenty of different props you can put together. Here are some of my favorite player props as Marcus Mariota and the Falcons host Jacoby Brissett and the Browns.

Nick Chubb Over 89.5 Yards

How high could they make this prop where I wouldn’t bet it? Honestly, 89.5 rushing yards seems a little low for the player that’s currently leading the league in yards on the ground. Chubb is coming off a spectacular 113-yard performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers in which he averaged 4.9 yards per carry and found the end zone once. He faces an Atlanta Falcons defense that is fairly middle-of-the-road when it comes to run defense, allowing 109.3 yards per game. However, the two-headed monster of Chubb and Kareem Hunt is unlike anything the Falcons have had to deal with so far this season. Atlanta allowed both L.A. Rams running back Darrell Henderson Jr. and Seattle Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny to average 4.7 yards per run in the previous two games. I’d be surprised if Chubb doesn’t hit 100 yards again.

Kyle Pitts Under 4.5 Receptions

There was quite a bit of hype for TE Kyle Pitts coming out of Georgia, and the Falcons were definitely excited to see how they could incorporate the talented receiver into their offense. Well, apparently part of that plan wasn’t getting Pitts the ball in the end zone, as he only has one touchdown in 20 games. Additionally, he hasn’t exactly been racking up receptions, averaging four catches per game last season and only three per game this year. He did have a bit of a bounceback last week against the Seattle Seahawks, racking up five catches for 87 yards. However, he’s going to struggle against a Browns defense that excels against tight ends, as seen with Steelers TE Pat Freirmuth’s two catches last week.

Amari Cooper Over 60.5 Receiving Yards

Was that “6” supposed to be a “4”? This number seems awfully low for a player that just became the first Cleveland wide receiver since Josh Gordon in 2013 to post consecutive 100-yard games. Cooper just had a field day against the Pittsburgh Steelers, amassing seven catches for 101 yards and a touchdown. Clearly, Cooper and QB Jacoby Brissett are building chemistry, and I’m excited to see where it goes from here. While the run game comes first in Cleveland, Cooper should find plenty of opportunities this Sunday against Atlanta. The Falcons are currently allowing 271.3 yards per game through the air, allowing New Orleans Saints WR Jarvis Landry to gain 114 yards just a few weeks ago. I’m banking on Cooper to have another electric performance in Atlanta.

Marcus Mariota Over 0.5 INT

And the over props continue! I realize that the Cleveland Browns haven’t exactly been ballhawks this season, recording only one interception thus far. But the value is far too great to pass up here. Mariota has thrown at least one pick in consecutive games, and I could easily see that happening again here. Because of the general Cleveland style of power running and controlling the clock, the Falcons are going to have to air it out late in the game to keep up. And, while Mariota has been better than some expected heading into the year, the quarterback has been fairly turnover-prone as of late. The only issue I see here is the lack of pressure if Myles Garrett is out due to injury, as his status is still up in the air at the time of writing. Nevertheless, I’m loving the value for a QB that has thrown three picks over the past two weeks.
