DraftKings NFL Daily Fantasy Cash Game Picks Week 8

Quarterbacks

Josh Allen ($7,000) vs Patriots- Josh Allen has slowed down after his hot start to the season but he is still capable and has the potential to have huge fantasy games. I think this is one where we could see him thrive. He threw for 300 yards for the first time since week 3 last Sunday while also running for 61 yards on the ground. He didn’t find the endzone but I don’t expect that trend to continue. The Pats are missing notable pieces on the defensive side of the ball and were just exposed by the 49ers for 30+ points. Roster Josh Allen with confidence this week in this divisional matchup.

Joe Burrow ($6,200) vs Titans- The Bengals defense has had lots of issues and because of this, it has forced Burrow to have to air it out early and often in most games this season. This is great for fantasy owners and I think it is something we will see this Sunday vs the Titans. Burrow had a huge game last week scoring 38 FPTS and this week I think he could throw for 300+ yards again. He will be up against a Titans defense that ranks in the bottom half of the league in pass defense. I think we are getting a great price here for Burrow who can sling it with the best of them and has shown teams he can be a threat on the ground as well.

Running Backs

Jonathan Taylor ($6,600) vs Lions- Colts rookie RB Jonathan Taylor hasn’t had any huge games but he has been very consistent. He has scored 13+ FPTS in 5 of the 6 games the Colts have played this season and he has shown more recently that he can also be a threat catching the ball out of the backfield. The matchup this week is also great, the Lions rank 30th vs opposing RBs on DK this season and have struggled to stop anyone this season. Taylor comes in at a great price and he will be in my lineup this week.

Melvin Gordon III ($5,600) vs Chargers- Melvin had some off the field issues a couple of weeks ago but he came back strong in week 7 rushing for 68 yards and a touchdown vs the Chiefs. He did have 2 fumbles that aren’t ideal but I wouldn’t expect it to severely impact his fantasy value. He will be up against his former team, the LA Chargers, this week and I expect him to be extra motivated this week. Despite sharing the backfield with Phillip Lindsay, Melvin has been able to be successful this season and score 5 TDs on the year. This should be a close game and Melvin should be involved early and often.

Wide Receivers

A.J. Brown ($6,900) vs Bengals- Since returning from injury Titans WR A.J. Brown has been great. He has hauled in 4 TDs in 3 games and has been targeted no less than 7 times in those 3 games as well. In those 3 games he has no less than 21.2 FPTS and against the Bengals this week I don’t expect things to change that much. This is expected to be a high scoring game and even with the Titans looking to hand it off the Derrick Henry, A.J. Brown is a big enough threat to make an impact any time he touches the ball. The Bengals defense is just too poor to pass up on rostering Brown this week.

Denzel Mims ($3,200) vs Chiefs- There is some risk going this far down the board, but Denzel Mims played in his first game in week 7 and looked pretty good. He hauled in 4 of 7 targets for 42 yards and even though the Jets offense struggled he looked to be a big part of the offense. They will likely be down to the Chiefs this week, so if Darnold is forced to throw and Mims is one of the few healthy receivers he could return great value for someone at this low of a price point.

Tight End

Darren Waller ($5,600) vs Browns- Waller is one of the most expensive TEs on this Sunday’s slate of games, but I think he should be the #1 TE. Waller is one of the most targeted TEs in the entire league, the one knock on him was that he doesn’t score many touchdowns. He has silenced those critics with 2 TDs in the last 2 games to go along with his 16 targets. The Browns haven’t been able to cover TEs well all season rankings 28th on DK this year. The price may be high but the return should be worth it.

Defense

New Orleans Saints D/ST ($3,400) vs Bears- The Saints defense has had its ups and downs this season but this week I think things can turn around. They will take on the Bears, who have been having many issues on the offensive side of the ball. New Orleans only allowed 37 yards on the ground last week vs Carolina and with Nick Foles struggling to throw the ball I think this could be a recipe for success. Even if they don’t play great, I don’t think the Bears offense is capable of hanging a big number vs any team.
