Seattle Seahawks vs. New York Giants First Touchdown Picks
The goal of the First Touchdown prop is to identify which players will score the first touchdown of the game. Who will score first in the Seahwaks vs. Giants game?
Kenneth Walker III First Touchdown (+650 BMGM)
Entering this week, Walker ranked third in red zone attempts, second in inside the ten-yard-line attempts, and second in inside the five-yard-line attempts. He’s getting tremendous scoring opportunities, and the increased involvement as a pass-catcher only adds more routes for Walker to score a touchdown.
The New York Giants rank 31st in opponent rushing touchdowns per game, 30th in opponent expected points added per play, and 31st in opponent drives ending in an offensive score. In other words, this pitiful Giants defense will struggle mightily to stop Walker on the ground. Meanwhile, New York’s offense is far from effective these days, so the Seahawks are favored to score the first touchdown. Overall, it’s a prime matchup for Walker, who must score first about 13 percent of the time for the bet to have a positive expected value.
Tyler Lockett First Touchdown (+1000 BMGM)
The veteran easily leads Seattle in red zone targets, inside the ten-yard-line targets, and end zone targets. He also currently ranks seventh across the NFL in PFF’s expected touchdowns despite playing one game less. With Geno Smith at quarterback, Lockett owns 11 touchdowns in 19 games (57.8%), while DK Metcalf sits at 7 touchdowns in 20 games (35%).
As stated above, Seattle’s offense has the edge and is more likely to score first. While New York’s run defense is their worst unit, the Giants also struggle in coverage. Metcalf will hog the attention, so look for Lockett to slip through and score the first touchdown if Walker cannot punch it in.
Parris Campbell First Giants Touchdown (+1000 BMGM)
New York’s offense has been utterly lifeless, so identifying a standout isn’t exactly easy. However, Parris Campbell’s volume is encouraging here. He paces the Giants in red zone targets while narrowly ranking third in target share behind Darren Waller and Darius Slayton.
Seattle’s defense is 29th in opponent dropback expected points added per play, 29th in percentage of opponent drives ending in an offensive score, and 30th in PFF’s coverage grade. The Seahawks are being torn apart through the air, and slot cornerback Artie Burns has been a factor behind those struggles. Campbell has the matchup and solid volume signs, so he’s worth backing at +1000 odds, which boasts an implied probability of nine percent.
