Team USA 2026 World Cup Betting Odds, Futures Markets & Best Bets

The good news is that the United States is not only in the 2026 World Cup, but as a host, didn’t sweat qualifying and will play every single match on home soil, starting with its group stage matches in Los Angeles and Seattle.

The bad news is that the U.S. is far from favored to win this World Cup, even though it’s one that it was projected to do well in when the games were awarded to the U.S. and its two North American co-hosts, given the home-field advantage and a golden generation of players coming up.

Certainly, there’s still the capacity for this team to surprise some opponents en route to the higher echelons of the knockout rounds, and the most special quality to soccer is that, especially in the World Cup, one team can triumph over another in the space of 90 minutes — especially when things don’t go as fans, pundits, and oddsmakers think they will.

With players like Christian Pulisic, Weston McKennie, Folarin Balogun, Tyler Adams, and Timothy Weah featuring, the U.S. has players active in the best leagues in the world.

To Win 2026 World Cup:

Currently, the U.S. is looking at odds as long as [66/1] to win the tournament, which depending on who is calculating the numbers, puts them in the same tier as Uruguay, Switzerland, Japan, and depending on how broadly you want to define the tier, Morocco and Mexico.

Those are all good teams, but put them up against a favorite like France, Argentina, England, Spain, or Brazil, and the talent gulf is evident. Patriotism is well and good if you’re an American, and it might make for a fun side bet if the U.S. does have the best run in its century-plus of soccer history, but it’s wiser to pick your horse taking one of the five mentioned at the start of this paragraph.

Best Bet: Avoid Team USA to win the World Cup

Team USA 2026 World Cup Top Goalscorer Odds

While the 26 players representing the U.S. in 2026 won’t be announced until May 26 (in keeping with the ‘26 theme), the top three players cited appear to be locks.

Folarin Balogun, who didn’t even get his first cap with the USMNT until June 2023 after making a one-time switch from England, will likely be the starting striker in most if not all of the matches. He’s coming off his best season in Ligue 1 with Monaco tally-wise, and his best season in France’s top division since 2023.

Christian Pulisic, who has been dubbed one of the United States’ best players since making his debut in the Copa América Centenario back in 2016, hasn’t had the best year for club and country leading up to the World Cup, but he’s already fifth on the list of all-time top U.S. men’s goalscorers.

Haji Wright has been flourishing in the Championship with Coventry City over the past three seasons, and this month, helped the Sky Blues get promoted to the Premier League.

Also note, though, that last time out, three U.S. players tied for top goalscorer … with one goal each.

Best Bet: Folarin Balogun +275

Team USA Group Stage Odds

To Win Group D
To Advance From Group:
Finish Second in Group:
Finish Third in Group:
Finish Last in Group:

The U.S. is favored to win its group, and with good reason. In Paraguay, it drew the team that finished sixth in CONMEBOL qualifying, though Paraguay was equal on points with both Brazil and Uruguay in particularly keen competition (save for Argentina, which lapped all other teams). In Australia, it drew a familiar foe that it’s beaten recently. And though Turkiye’s one of the trickier European qualifiers, they’re a manageable team.

It’s even possible that the U.S. outright wins all three of these group stage matches, with Australia looking to be the most winnable, though they have drawn at least one group stage match in every appearance since 2002.

Best Bet: U.S. to Win Group D

Team USA 2026 World Cup Stage of Elimination Odds

This year’s World Cup has an extra round in it compared to past tournaments, thanks to the expansion to a 48-team field. Whereas past World Cups had 32 teams with first-place and second-place teams advancing, this year’s field will bring eight third-place teams into a round of 32 with winners and second-place finishers in all 12 groups.

The U.S. has gone out in the Round of 16 in their last three World Cups (2010 to Ghana, 2014 to Belgium, 2022 to Netherlands), and if you believe in patterns, you can either peg the Yanks to advance to the Round of 16 again — meaning they win one knockout-round match — or say they’ll be bounced in the first elimination match past the group stages, which would be a Round of 32 exit.

Given their history and their current world ranking, Round of 16 (sadly) seems most likely, but if you believe that home-field advantage gives the hosts a bit of a push, and you think this roster can go toe-to-toe with some top teams, consider the quarterfinal or even the semifinal, where the U.S. would ultimately fall to a France or an Argentina.

Best Bet: Round of 16 +220

Team USA 2026 World Cup Total Goals Odds

Total teams goals is one of the most challenging elements to forecast in a World Cup run. Judging from what oddsmakers are projecting, there’s a sweet spot of anywhere from seven to nine goals being forecast for the Americans to score, and that’s reasonable given where they’re projected to exit.

They only managed three goals through four matches in their last World Cup, and if they make it through the Round of 16, that’s five matches. It’s a better offense overall this time around compared to 2022, but it also has many of the same pieces from four years ago.

Best Bet: 7.5 – Over (+100)

2026 World Cup Top North American Team Odds

Even though it’s long odds for the U.S. to win, it’s even longer odds for Mexico or Canada to win. Mexico’s had one of its most trying quadrennials after crashing out of the group stage in 2022, after seven straight tournaments making it to the Round of 16 (but not beyond that). Canada’s got an immensely talented team compared to previous World Cup cycles, but is still ranked 30th in the world and looks like it might be overachieving to get past the Round of 16.

Best Bet: Mexico (+140)
