Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers Player Prop Picks
Many expected the Falcons to get the upset as they are built to give the Lions fits and boy was everyone wrong. The Lions looked as impressive as ever, even with some key players out due to injury. Jared Goff and Sam LaPorta are building an impressive connection, making an already lethal pass game even more dynamic. As for the Packers, expect the offense to struggle while Jordan Love has to make the plays himself in a collapsing pocket.
Jared Goff Over 245.5 Passing Yards
It’s never ideal to take Jared Goff player prop overs when he is on the road, especially in the outdoors. While his splits take a drastic drop off in production from when he is home in a dome, it needs to be mentioned that those splits are heavily correlated with less-than-ideal weather. This Thursday expects to be a clear sunny day, negating a brunt of his road struggles.
As for the play on the field, it will be another clean pocket and ample time to make the right read as this offensive line continues to dominate and get healthy. Taylor Decker is expected to return, giving the Lions o-line a massive boost in protection. The Packers defensive line struggles to generate a rush at a consistent level from a majority of their core, allowing the Lions to shade towards whoever gives them fits from the second level blitz.
As for the secondary, the Packers may be without Jaire Alexander again which has proven to leave a massive void in coverage. With the Lions plethora of weapons, the Packers secondary will be constantly reeling in an effort to keep up.
Throw in the development of Sam LaPorta turning into a reliable target down field and the Packers defense will be stretched out too thin to negate the pass. Especially with Amon-Ra St Brown continuing to play at an elite level, burning opposing second levels with ease as a lethal slot receiver.
Sam LaPorta Anytime Touchdown
Speaking of Sam LaPorta, back him to find the end zone once again as he carves out a bigger role in this offense. With plenty of mouths to feed, it’s impressive how quickly LaPorta has integrated himself into this pass attack as a reliable go-to target for Jared Goff.

Impressive yet, he’s not just the prototypical short range tight end serving as a safety blanket after Goff goes through his reads. LaPorta has found himself making downfield routes, getting the opportunity to haul in another one in busted coverage. Factor that with his opportunity to snag one in the red zone by finding the gaps in coverage and LaPorta will be an intriguing ATD target moving forward.
Jordan Love Over 14.5 Rushing Yards
Packers fans have been able to take a sigh of relief as new quarterback Jordan Love has managed to maintain winning expectations after the departure of Aaron Rodgers. His play has been conservative and reliant on the short throw, as well as burning second levels with his running ability.
That running ability will be on full display in this one as the Lions have struggled to contain rushing quarterback production. Quarterbacks cleared this mark on average last season, and we have already witnessed Patrick Mahomes run wild on them. Their defensive line has done an impressive job at generating backfield pressure, now potentially forcing Love into more scrambling situations and giving a higher chance of clearing this over.
Jordan Love Under 230.5 Passing Yards
With more scrambling opportunities comes with less pass attempts. Correlating this prop with the previously mentioned one, Jordan Love will find himself in a constant collapsing pocket as the Lions defensive line continues to generate backfield pressure at a high rate.
Factor in the improved play from the secondary and open passing lanes will be tough to come by. This number has already come crashing down in some shops so be sure to have multiple books and always buy the best available number.
