Los Angeles Rams vs. Cincinnati Bengals Same Game Parlay Picks
It’s a Super Bowl rematch on Monday Night Football as the Rams face the Bengals in primetime. Unfortunately, however, Joe Burrow’s status is unclear as the Bengals quarterback is listed as questionable.
At the time I’m writing this, we still don’t know if Burrow will play on Monday night. He has been dealing with a calf injury since the offseason, and while he played through it in the first two weeks, he re-aggravated it.
There was a report on Sunday that Burrow could land on injured reserve. However, a conflicting report emerged saying he’s planning on going through a workout in the morning that will help determine his status for the game. The short answer – nobody knows.
Rather than try to navigate that murky situation, I’m focusing on Rams players for this SGP. Of course, if Burrow gets ruled in and there’s a prop you like, feel free to include it in your SGP. Let’s get to work.
Leg 1: Matthew Stafford Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-120)
I had the Bengals’ pass defense filed away as a potential concern after they lost Jessie Bates III, and so far they miss their leader of the secondary. While Bates is helping Atlanta transform its pass defense, Cincinnati has fallen to the 28th-ranked unit by passing success rate allowed.
I ultimately trust Lou Anarumo, one of the most respected defensive coordinators in the NFL, to figure it out. But for the time being, this pass defense is exploitable. Matthew Stafford threw three touchdowns in the Super Bowl against a better version of the same defense, and I like his chances to go over 1.5 here.
Leg 2: Puka Nacua 70+ Receiving Yards (+100)
Puka Nacua, a fifth-round rookie out of BYU, has 266 receiving yards through two games. No, that’s not a typo. With Cooper Kupp sidelined by an injury, Stafford has locked in on Nacua – his 35 targets are the most in the NFL, and almost all of the teams have three games not two under their belt.
Nacua likely won’t break the all-time single-season receiving record in his rookie season, like he’s currently on pace to do, but this role in the offense isn’t going anywhere until Cooper Kupp returns. Nacua is still underpriced by the books with +115 odds to the over on his receiving yardage prop.
Leg 3: Rams Total Points Over 20.5 (-120)
While we don’t quite know what to expect from the Bengals’ offense on Monday night, we know the Rams’ offense will be working. Sean McVay is one of the best offensive minds in football and Matthew Stafford is developing strong rapport with his young receivers, especially Nauka.
The Rams have scored 30 and 23 points in their first two games, and I struggle to see why they wouldn’t hit 21+ points for the third straight week. Stafford is a machine against the blitz, and the Bengals are blitzing at one of the highest rates in the NFL. He completed all ten pass attempts against Cincinnati’s blitz in the Super Bowl, and I expect more of the same here.
