Tennessee Titans vs.New England Patriots Matchup Preview (11/28/21)
In a battle between two first place clubs, the 8-3 Tennessee Titans of the AFC South face the AFC East’s New England Patriots who are 7-4. The Titans are coming off a shocking 22-13 loss to the Houston Texans who are tied for last place in the AFC South. In the defeat, Tennessee had five plus giveaways without a takeaway in a game for the first time since December 2, 2012, vs. the Texans per NFL.com. To open week 11, New England shutout Atlanta, 25-0. The Patriots have outscored their opponents 63-0 over their last seven quarters of play.
Tennessee Titans vs.New England Patriots Betting Odds

Tennessee Titans Analysis
In 2021, the Titans are averaging 354.1 yards of total offense per game, while 26.5 scoring points per game. Tennessee have had at least three giveaways in a game three times this season; they had one such game in 2020.
In the loss to the Texans, Ryan Tannehill was 35-52 for 323 yards, one touchdown with four interceptions and a 58.4 passer rating. He’s now 5-20 in games with at least 40 pass attempts, which are the fewest wins among quarterbacks with 20 such games since being drafted in 2012 per NFL.com. On the season, Tannehill has thrown for 2,681 yards, 13 touchdowns, a league leading 12 interceptions, 66.6 completion percentage with a 54 QBR. The former Dolphin has been sacked a league leading 31 times through 11 games.
The Titans receivers have been a group that hasn’t lived up to expectations this season, due to injuries and inconsistency. Julio Jones, acquired in the off-season from Atlanta has played only six games and is out indefinitely with a hamstring injury. On the season he has 21 receptions for 336 yards without a touchdown. A.J. Brown suffered a chest injury against the Texans and is currently listed as day-to-day. Brown who led the Titans in receiving last season is leading the team in receiving this season with 46 receptions for 615 yards with three touchdowns. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine has started three games this season and looks promising. He has 23 receptions and is averaging 11.8 yards a reception in 2021.
Since Derrick Henry was injured in week 8 the running game has been in dire straits. In his three games as a Titan future Hall of Famer Adrian Peterson has rushed for 82 yards on 27 carries with a touchdown. Against the Texans he rushed for 40 yards, becoming the first Titans to rush for at least 30 yards in a game since week 8.
Defensively the Titans are allowing 350.5 total yards of offense to their opponents and allowing 23.1 points per game.

New England Patriots Analysis
In 2021, the Patriots are averaging 351.8 yards of total offense per game, while scoring 27.3 points per game. New England has scored at least scored 24 points in seven straight games, their longest streak since 2015.
During the Patriots five-game winning streak, Jones has thrown for 1,068 yards and seven touchdowns. The 15th overall pick in the 2021 draft has thrown for 2,540 yards, 14 touchdowns with a 70.2 completion percentage. Jones is one of three quarterbacks to win each of their first five career road starts. His seven wins this season are more than all the other rookie quarterbacks combined who have five wins. He has more than 20 completions in a game seven times in 2021. The Alabama product has simply been fantastic and really has the potential to be a special player in the NFL.
Jakobi Meyers is the Patriots leading receiver this season with 54 catches for 522 yards and a touchdown. Kendrick Bourne is New England’s second leading receiver, catching 37 balls for 562 yards. Bourne’s three receiving touchdowns in 2021, are one more than he had all last year with San Francisco. Nelson Agholor has been another receiver who has contributed to the Patriots passing game this season, catching 29 passes for 396 yards. On the season he has three touchdowns, since 2020 he has 11 touchdown receptions.
New England tight end Hunter Henry is showing what he can do when healthy, unfortunately throughout his NFL career that has been a big issue for the former Charger. The free agent acquisition is a reliable receiver and effective in the red zone. On the season he has 33 receptions for 378 yards. His seven receiving touchdowns in 2021 are the most since his rookie season in 2016.
The New England defense is allowing 313.2 total yards of offense per game. During their five-game winning streak they are allowing 10 points per game.
In the victory over Atlanta, Kyle Van Noy was dominant with five solo tackles, two sacks, two tackles for loss and an interception, that he returned for a touchdown. Signed as a free agent
last off-season, Matt Judon had a sack, a tackle for loss and three quarterback hits in the shutout of the Falcons. He has a career-high 10.5 sacks in 2021, the most by a Patriot in a season since Chandler Jones who had 12.5 in 2015.
The Patriots pass defense is allowing 211.5 yards per game, ranking them sixth in the NFL. With his interception vs. Atlanta, J.C. Jackson has the most interceptions in a player’s first four seasons in Patriots history with 23. Devin McCourty is the third player in Patriots history with at least 30 career interceptions.

Tennessee Titans vs.New England Patriots Daily Fantasy Picks
I’d sit Ryan Tannehill this week if you have a solid backup. In his third year with the Titans, he’s averaging 1.2 touchdown passes per game this season. In his last five games, the Titans are 4-1, but he has tossed eight interceptions and has been sacked 11 times. Bill Belichick will be turning up the heat this week on the Titans signal caller.
Without a doubt if you have Mac Jones, he must be your starting quarterback. He has been the most impressive rookie this season. He’s poised in the pocket, has fantastic timing, and can throw receivers open. Jones has completed at least 70% of his passes in a game seven times this season. The rookie has thrown at least one touchdown in nine contests in 2021; he’s thrown five touchdown passes his last three games.
