Top Pitchers
Jose Berrios ($10,800) vs White Sox– Jose Berrios has been great for the Twins this season and he has only allowed 1 ER in 3 of his last 4 starts. He will be up against the White Sox tonight who he shut down only allowing 1 ER in 6.2 innings of work. Berrios hasn’t been electric with the strikeouts this season but he has still almost averaged a strikeout an inning. The White Sox lineup is average at best and Berrios is a borderline elite pitcher. He comes at a hefty price but I think he is well worth it against the familiar lineup.
Mike Fiers ($8,000) vs Angels– Fiers isn’t a strikeout pitcher but he has limited the damage over his last two starts with a 1.42 ERA in 12.2 innings pitched. He has also pitched well vs the Angels in their last meeting going 6 innings and allowing 3 earned runs. Fiers comes in at a very reasonable price tonight and with his string of quality starts I feel like he is a great safe high floor option in tonight’s slate if you are looking to go bigger with some high profile hitters.
Top Hitters
Nolan Arenado ($5,100) vs Dodgers– Despite Hyun-Jin Ryu pitching very well I still like Arenado at this $5,100 price. That is because Arenado has been superb against Ryu in his career going 12/21 with 3 HRs 2 2Bs and has also added two walks. He will also get the benefit of playing at Coors field tonight so that only adds to his value. His price is pretty reasonable for a Coors Field game, although Ryu has been dominant, so I am going to take advantage tonight and put Arenado in my lineup.
Yasiel Puig ($4,500) vs Cubs– Puig started off really slow but it looks like he has started to get his bat going over the past week or so. He has a hit in 6 of his last 7 games this year and has hit 6 home runs in his last 11 games overall. He will be going up against a lefty tonight and he has shown this season that he is better vs the lefties hitting almost 30 points better than he does vs righties. While he is hitting well I feel confident in Puig for the time being.
J.P. Crawford ($4,300) vs Astros– JP Crawford used to be one of the top prospects in baseball and fizzled out on the Phillies and has found some success with the Mariners. He has been excellent especially as of late with at least 1 hit in 8 of his last 9 starts. He has also been producing at the plate with 9 RBI’s in his last 4 games. Wade Miley has been shaky as of late so Crawford feels like a very solid option at this price at the SS position.
Khris Davis ($3,800) vs Angels– Khris Davis hasn’t been strong with the home runs as he has in previous years but he has been pretty solid with the bat in general lately. He has reached base in 13 of his last 14 games and has gotten in a hit in 8 straight games coming into tonight. He will be up against Angels SP Felix Pena who has faltered as of late allowing a lot of hits so Khris has a good opportunity to extend his streak tonight.
